Lucas is merely for the lulz, we may not win the league because of his addition but it would be fun to watch him in the EPL and fun is something I have not had really often the past seasons with United, as the scrappy 1-0 win are getting boring after a while and with our game plan revolving on Rooney pinging 30 yards passes to Valencia who then runs pass a defender and cross the ball in the box.

But really, with limited funds at our disposal, I fail to see why would we need RVP. SAF must really be counting on Cleverley to stay injury-free the whole year.

I think Sahin would fit the bill. We will not just be getting creativity but we are going to have better organization in that midfield. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this pushes through and at the same time that Sahin gets his mojo back.

This Lucas thing is just wtf. We don't need him that much compared to a real midfield maestro that we would get with Nuri and a left back to replace the aging Evra.

I do not like RVP that much though.

Sahin is not going to come - his agent has said, as has the player himself, that he is committed on playing for Real Madrid and proving that he is quality. We all know he is. As for Lucas, please, for those who have not watched him, do not formulate an opinion based on one YouTube comp, the most prominent one that is. He would be a decent buy to have, but the price is excessive in a position that we don't need to strengthen on.

There are various reasons why we shouldn't invest in Robin van Persie. Spending an excessive amount on a 29-year-old, as great a player he is, wouldn't be the right option to buy when our central midfield area is in need of some serious reconstruction. I rate him highly, but he's only had two brilliant seasons, plus many injury-prone ones, so it's a big risk to take. Another is that our brightest prospect from last season wouldn't be optimistic about his chances. I'm assuming you don't know, but Welbeck is entering the final year of his contract. It would be the wrong signal to send to him, after being one of our main talking points in a disappointing season. Finally, Fergie has already confirmed that Kagawa will play in his favoured role, behind the lone striker, so I see no logic in having van Persie/Rooney on the bench.

Whilst Hernandez may have had a great debut season in England, he was nothing short of mediocre last season. His hold-up play, link-up, passing, and general awareness was non-existent. All this talk about him not having a good rest because he was playing in the Gold Cup are cringe-worthy. Messi didn't exactly have a fantastic pre-season or good Copa America campaign, yet he was still just as consistent as previous seasons. Saying that though, I believe that the Mexican will find his feet again next season, but he's dropped down the pecking order, with Rooney, van Persie, and Welbeck all ahead of him. Fergie clearly rates him, and he's not going to sell him to any of our rivals. Take Heinze, for example.
