Re: Thiago Alcantara
He was 20 when he did that, so i doubt you have seen many 20yo at that level.

Here is a player who came into the greatest midfield the game has ever seen by far,and managed to hold his own and even stand out.He has put in stellar performances against Madrid,Milan,Bilbao etc.
Just to put that into perspective,Cesc fabregas has looked completely lost and clueless in our midfield and Thiago has outperformed him.

It's not like he outshined Cesc, Thiago's ability is way better than Cesc's, infact he is already a way better player.

I can third that sentiment- Thiago was one of our better players against Milan.

Re: Thiago Alcantara
Some of you get carried away by a few moments of brilliance as opposed to watching the match as a whole. I'm convinced Thiago is a good player with huge potential but I can only laugh off the comparisons with Iniesta and/or Xavi for now.
As for Milan and Madrid matches, he played a good match against Milan, whom I don't consider a top team in Europe despite their glorious history, and against Madrid I didn't see anything special, bar a few moments of classy dribbling. What about away games against Getafe, Levante or Osasuna last season?

Re: Thiago Alcantara
Im sorry, did anyone say he is as good as Xavi and Iniesta right now?
All that was said was he is at least as good as they were at his age and some think he might become as good as them.
Are any of those statements that bad?
And picking out a couple of games he struggled in is quite silly. I could pick out games like that for in their prime Xavi and Iniesta.

Dude, i really like your posts, as sometimes they are eyeopeners, but you got to read what we say a bit better. As Franchise said, we only compare him to Xavi and Iniesta of his age. Some of us think he has a potential to become as good as Iniesta and Xavi (not them just on the same level).

Re: Thiago Alcantara
- Very difficult skill to pull off with two players surrounding you
- Fantastic vision to find Villa so quickly
- Accurate long ball
- Great effort to get to the end of the pitch so quickly
Re: Thiago Alcantara
Please don't see this short clip as my evidence to how good a player he is. I'm absolutely in love with this player.

Pressures, wins the ball, pulls off a move, has the vision and the weight of the pass to find his man.

Re: Thiago Alcantara
If you are lucky enough to keep Thiago, he must start at least half your games in the upcoming season. And that is not solely as a means to keep him happy but more importantly because Xavi has blatantly started to show his age.
Re: Thiago Alcantara
The guy should and hopefully will start more than 50% of our games definately.

Re: Thiago Alcantara
with xavi's present condition thiago easily can play 50% games. However again it depends on Titio. And some coaches don like to replace quickly of their most reiable midfielder. So basically the decision can hang out their....Also la liga teams are as good as we need to replace Xavi because of his age/pace yet.

Re: Thiago Alcantara
I've been saying he should start more than 50% of the matches since before it emerged he had a clause of 20m
