Re: Gerard Pique
If he didnt take this name literally, he would be godlike lol
But yeah, I think he gets a bit too much stick generally speaking. I mean recently, Puyol has made more errors and its still Pique who people look to.
His ability with the ball at his feet is fantastic when he doesnt go too far and his ability to win aerial balls is integral as so many teams are forced into going long against our pressing.
Not to mention on set peices.

He gets stick because it's clear that the problem is in his head and concentration, not in his ability. Also as the assumed future captain of the squad you expect better from him.

Messi over Pique as captain any day of the week.
On subject,if he stops thinking that he will never ever be remotely as good as the Kaiser,he can be a damn good defender.
Certainlyy has the talent to be one of the best if not the very best CB in the world.

Re: Gerard Pique
The head referee is planning to denounce Pique for what he said about his red card being premeditated.
Its on spanish
This is pathetic, pique is going to be denounce for that by the head referee yet after all that mourinho has said about the referees or waiting at the parking for the ref and casillas screaming "go and party with them" to the ref was not? nor did they do anything about pepes stamp on messi hand...
To make things even worse, the guy who is going judge the complain is a 85 year old ex-member of real madrid
This league is so badly run....

I think that denouncing pique for saying stuff like this is actually a good thing, because you cant say stuff like this about refs, but what I am against is why didnt they do this to casillas, cristiano ronaldo, Mourinho(!!) etc. Where were they then? They said worse thing, especially casillas and mourinho yet they were never punished for it by the spanish FA nor was pepe for his intentional stamp on messi ffs.
If you are going to punish someone for speaking his mind about the refs intention, then do it for everyone..
lol

Jimenez (spokesperson Spanish referee committee): "Why complaint against Pique? We act depending on the media impact of statements." [ona]
Jimenez: "Mourinho insulting ref at parking, statements Ramos, Casillas, Xabi, Arbeloa? Can't remember if we filed complaint in those cases"
José Ángel Jiménez, RFEF spokesman:
"We did what we had too and what was right..I don't know if we did anything when Mourinho waited a referee in the parking lot."
And a few minutes later:
"We take messures depending on the mediatization of every case. What Mourinho did it didn't had the same impact in the media as Pique's words."
"In Pique's case there weren't any doubts..discussing other incidents would be a waste of time."

Re: Gerard Pique
Dont mean squat.
Luckily for him things havent gone bad for Spain often enough for him to lose his cool.
When/if they do though, then what do we have? An immature bumbling fool who cant control himself.
Not much of a leader.

Good, saves us time. I dont see how Ramos previous behavior in any way gives off the "future leader of Spain" vibe.

We both know we aren't going anywhere with this , when it's time for this particular discussion we'll have it but it's far off yet so isn't neccesary.Anyway, me trying to convince you + the barca board about Ramos......I know that just ain't happening.

Oh wow, one only has to wonder how they measure this "media impact" of the words, because Mourinho's words had as much of an impact as Pique's, I feel.

Re: Gerard Pique
Pique plays significantly better, when partnered alongside Puyol, primarily because he has the latter shouting at his ear and giving him confidence, whereas the other partners haven't exactly helped him in any way. He has had a stop and start season, one that he'd probably like to end, but he will probably end up having a decent end to the season. He will become Spain's best centre-back, alongside Ramos I believe, in the next couple of seasons, he has everything required to become as dominant as Puyol.

Re: Gerard Pique
So apparently when Pique complained about the foul on Keita the ref, Verdasco, told him "You shut up! I will expel you!", according to Ona FM.
