Re: Dani Alves : Right Boss
Yeah a bit of a blow but in a good time anyways. Funny that 50% of the injuries you encounter playing football arent actually connected to the foot at all. I had the similar injury 2-3 years ago, I didint break my bone but my nerves got bit of a damage.

Re: Dani Alves : Right Boss
Might be reading into it too much but beginning to give these rumours of Dani's departure some weight...He looked pretty subdued and almost marginalized during the celebrations last night...I realize he was in a sling and suffering from a painful fracture but I can't remember a time where a celebration was going on that Dani wasn't lit up
Might make sense then to keep Adriano and platoon him with Montoya...but I fear Dani's 4 year reign with the club is at an end

It's simply not good that he is getting linked out of the club with so much intensity. The fact that there are so many rumors seems to validate them. I really do hope that the club isn't considering what would be a disastrous move. There's no one in the world like Dani.

Re: Dani Alves : Right Boss
It concerns me, but its his word against the media. He, personally on twitter and facebook, announced his intention to stay. I trust that.
The only reason we would sell him is for economic gain, which isn't a great reason. We could go from having Abidal and Alves to Alba and Montoya as our fullbacks in 1 season. Bit of a downgrade...

Bit of a downgrade is putting it nicely but yeah lol
I trust Dani Alves comments, I am convinced he wants to stay.
If he goes, im pretty sure it again, would be the club.

He looked dejected to me and not the usual Samba personality we're used to with him...Had the feel of a goodbye, to me

He is commited with the club and the club wants him as well. Tito has shown no signs of wanting to release him so atm he isn't going anywhere...

The signs are not positive. The constant rumours, the club not issuing statements to dispel the rumours, statements about Montoya.
I am really worried.Alves is indispensable and irreplaceable.I have always stated that for me he is the third name on the team sheet and one of the most important players on the team. The best signing of the Pep era and imo our third best player over the past 4 years after Messi and Xavi.
I pray and hope that the club has the sense to keep him.Nobody else can do what he does. Not even close.

I'm quite certain Dani wants to stay, I just hope the club doesn't want to sell.

Re: Dani Alves : Right Boss
I dug a little bit in Alves' season as I think it is bad so far and Alexjanosik and other people said it was very good. I found out the following:
Dani Alves so far this season has 0 assists to his name.
0.7 interceptions per game vs. 1.9 he had last season.
Only 0.8 fouls per game compared to 1.8 last season (pointing out a clear lack of intensity on his behalf).
0 shots per game vs. 1.1 last season.
Similar statistics in dribling, turnovers, disposessed and key passes.
Directly responsible of one goal in Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Spartak and Madrid games. Lack of intensity in Osasuna goal, although definitely not his fault.
Hasn't made a single good cross so far this season, Alba in half the minutes has made 3 or 4 good crosses and has an assist to his name.
Terrible, terrible season so far. Doesn't add anything in attack and is a hole in defence.
What are the reasons of his poor performances? Do you think he will come back or he is finished?
I really hope we can get our old Alves back...

is Dani Alves on decline? I don't recognize him on the pitch anymore. He used to be such a boss every game.

I hope after not playing due to his injury he'll be eager to play
I don't think he is on decline but of course he nay have a bad form .

If you guys have the same concerns in December then fair enough, but I think this is very premature.

Yep, apart from the 1st leg of the SSC, Dani has been subpar...I thought Montoya's inclusion in the squad would be the sort of fire to keep Alves focused but perhaps he banks too much on his on pitch telepathy with Leo

^ This.
We've played 6 games and Dani hasn't looked quite right in a few of them. Hopefully this won't be a season where he struggles with injury... I'm sure he'll regain fitness and I hope his form follows. Lets wait.

Rather sad to know he is in bad form but atleast we have a decent replacement for the mean time.

Re: Dani Alves : Right Boss
I dont remember seeing stuff like that. Alves don't simply want to score easy goals.
It's rather similar when Messi played him through against Leverkusen, but he chose to do the most ridiculous cross to assist Messi's goal.

I agree, he's so comfortable with interacting in anywhere on the pitch. Obviously rusty still, but rather good game.

We've gone from having one good fullback (3 years ago) to 4-5. Get in ffs. Alves, Alba, Adri, Monty, Godric

Alves
What a performance
They said Alba was as good attacking wise and that he was the worst of our fullbacks.
Alves proves once more why no one can touch him in the fullback position and why at his best he is a top 10 player in the world.
Never appreciated fully by Barca fans even though he has given his all for us.
The greatest competitor in the game.I have always liked him as a player and now I like him almost as much as Xavi.

Re: Dani Alves : Right Boss
I dont understand why anyone would want to sell this guy. Defies all logic to me.
Montoya wont ever touch his level, I rarely made such definitive comments so early, but quote me on this one.
