I will update the thread with each new tweet from AST members
-------------------------------------------------------------------
General
- Arsenal are having a board meeting on Thursday
- Arsenal have equal largest ticket revenue with MUFC in Europe
- Season Ticket renewals have lagged last few seasons, deadlines of Jun 1 have gone to early July.
- Only 1 in 4 of the ST waiting list took up the offer of a season ticket last year. Went up to 11,000 on waiting list
Finance
- Arsenal transfer profits to May 2011 stand at PROFIT of £55m
- Arsenal made £3m out of tour to Asia and Stadium debt now stands at £220m
- arsenal will have increased revenues by £10m in the reported year. But essentially stripping out player sales the club is Break Even
- arsenal have approx £50m available in cash for use.
- Still £35m in cash due to be received for Queensland Road likely to be received in next 6 months.
- arsenal have confirmed to #ast that the £50m in cash available. BUT the business model is sensitive to ECL participation.
- If Arsenal fail to qualify for ECL it will cost club £45m
- Arsenal could fall foul of FFP if we get no ECL as we will be loss making.
- Arsenal financial report due Friday or Monday
- Arsenal have 71 players on the wagebill (Bendtner is paid £52,000 pw) (Squillaci is on 60k)
- There remain 1200 shareholders in Arsenal owning 3 percent of the shares
- Paying down stadium debt early has very high penalties
- Wages now £130m
- Arsenal makes 14m from the Nike deal. Liverpool makes 40m from Standard Charter
- Kroenke will not take a cash injection from Red n White holding...
Thanks to Darren on Twitter
--------------------------------------------------------------
This is from Walid (with his personal opinions)
- Board wouldn't sack Wenger as he's making the profit required (and hiding the boards dirty laundry IMO)
- Seems Kroenke would die before taking "charity" from Red & White Holdings (Usmanov)
- Only club Kroenke has managed with big manager is Wenger. Arsenal and London seem like a tourist attraction to Stan rather than a club.
- Word is Lady Nina Bracewell-Smithwas ousted from the board because she was seen discussing sale of shares with someone from Red & White
- There's more Arsenal fans in Nigeria than the UK
- David Dein does not work with Usmanov anymore. Board doesn't like Usmanov because of David Dein rather than the other way around
- Only reason board supported Kroenke is because Kroenke was not on David Deins camp whereas Usmanov was.
- AST trying to get Dein to come to a meeting. Dein still attends every game at Emirates. Dein spends more time with Wenger than Ivan does
- David Dein always fought Wengers corner on the transfers he wanted, while Keith Edelman made sure all the money isn't spent
- Since Dein left, Wenger has been alone in trying to get the transfers and fighting his case for transfers
- Situation meant Wenger become nervous shopper. Dein would bring transfers to Wenger whereas now Wenger has to do work on negotiating himself

Only Arsenal can have this, 2 of the richest football owners and we still owe stadium debt. :vagi:

Probably meeting to discuss profits, then when Wenger brings up potential transfer targets and ways to win trophies, the meeting is adjourned and the room clears out

Re: AST Meeting (update last page - 10th june 2013 )
AST are a very bright and positve group of people.
Not true. Several clubs have very rich owners but still owe hundres of millions in debt for whatever reason. Unlike most of those clubs, our debt is seen as good debt by UEFA because it's a result of improving the club and we're actually paying it off with little to no troubles. It's even been suggested that we'd no troubles even without Champions League football.
Also, Arsenal only have owner, not two. The other is a shareholder, but isn't in a position to put money into the club. So it's irrelevant how many rich men we have with shares.
Anyway, none of this is new to us, is it? As far as I'm concerned we're still in the same position we have been for a while now.
Looking at that information there is one very obvious thing that needs to be done: decrease that monstrous wage bill. Would help us in so many ways.
Another thing that could be done is use that expected £35mil from the Queensland Road development for transfers, thus either giving us more than £55mil if we qualify for UCL or around £45mil without it. This without considering the inevitable player sales.
Needless to say, there'll be some form of money available in the summer.

Wow, its going to be a heck of a job moving the deadwood in the summer, especially with all that money that they're earning.
And if we miss out on the CL, the board will basically have another exuse not to invest into the squad.

415k a week?
That's 21.6 million a year
And this is without Arshavin and Diaby who probably make around 60 k each (?)
Thus making it about 28 million a year on these under-performers

So before the season, club officials and Wenger were trumpeting our 'sustainable business model' and now we're in danger of FFP repercussions?

I did say both. Regardless, apparently we're now in danger of "falling foul" of FFP. There's ENORMOUS irony in this situation to the point that it isn't even remotely funny.

Excellent work RG in getting all the points down into one post. On twitter, it's so hard to keep with all the points as they are tweeted live.
Had a read through, and it seems we have a massive summer ahead of us - of course we already knew that - but after reading all the points, it seems like it's bigger than we thought.
4th place is vital.

thanks man
This summer will be vital for us indeed. It has to be. Really hope we get the top 4, otherwise things will be really difficult.

Re: AST Meeting (update last page - 10th june 2013 )
Failing to qualify for CL will lose us 45 mil & the warchest is 50 mil but only spent depends on CL qualification. Seems to me the board once again hold on the that tiny *bleep* warchest more like financial insurance rather than actual squad reinforcement. R&W willing to inject cash whenever called upon but no *bleep* that . Also CL will not grant us £45mil, last year we only got 27.3 mil and the year before 22.8 mil.
Usmanov and R&W are being isolated, it seems the board really does everything to bust his nuts. Associate everything of him with Dein who Arsenal could really use right now but also seen as Arsenal board mortal enemy. Lady Nina might get booted from the board just by talking with Usmanov she hasn't made any deal yet ffs.
The rest is usual AST meeting, nothing new really but now that we're in deep shit, reading this is just so depressing.

Red and White may be willing to inject money in, but that's not going to be free money... Usmanov can talk all he wants about how he wants to take the club forward but he's not going to put in x amount of millions and not expect x amount of millions back.
