Roma to extend Kjaer loan?

By Football Italia staff

Roma will reportedly ask Wolfsburg if they can extend Simon Kjaer’s loan spell in the Italian capital.

The centre-back joined the Giallorossi until June 2012 for €3m, with an option to buy him outright at the end of the campaign for a further €7m.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Roma would like another 12 months to assess the stopper’s suitability.

Kjaer has had a problematic season on his return to Italian football following a past with Sicilian giants Palermo.

Kjaer has struggled for form and he’s only made 16 Serie A appearances for Luis Enrique’s side so far this term.

Sporting director Walter Sabatini, who worked with the Dane at the Rosanero, wants to give the player another chance before making a definite decision on his future.

Ag.Kjaer: "Simon wants to stay and I hope that Rome tells us something as soon as possible"

If Kjaer will be redeemed from Rome? Do not know, but I hope so" . Mikkel Beck, agent of the Danish defender under the yellow and red with the formula with the right to repurchase the loan from Wolfsburg,

speaks so Tuttomercatoweb of his client.

Ok, but soon the future will be clear.
"And I hope that Rome tells us something as soon as possible. Our will, however, is clear."

That?
"Stay at Rome. Simon in the Capital is good, the city is wonderful, the audience as well. It's all great, why go on?".

Maybe not exactly positive for performance?
"I disagree. Simon is a great player, a good defender with a great future ahead. In some circumstances it was unfortunate, but often did well. He wants to stay at Roma, I hope Sabatini, who take note. Our intention is clear. "

The cost of redemption, however, is a bit 'high.
"There will be no problems. If the cost was really high, I think that the two companies would find an alternative solution in a short time remains for Simon to Rome

If he can play as well as he did against Chievo then we should definitely extend his loan.

Kjaer will soon learn fate
By Football Italia staff

Simon Kjaer of Roma says that a decision on his future will be made at some point over the next two weeks.

The Danish international joined the capital club on a one-season loan last August from Wolfsburg. That deal cost the Italian club €3m and included a right-to-buy clause for a further €7m.

“There should be a clear decision made by the end of this month,” the 23-year-old told Ekstra Bladet. “The only thing that I am certain of is that I won’t be playing for Wolfsburg next season.

“I’m happy in Rome, but a lot will depend on which new Coach the club decide to go for.”

The 23-year-old had a difficult campaign at the Olimpico, making 22 League appearances before boss Luis Enrique quit at the end of the season.

I'm only on board if it's an extension to the current loan, definitely not willing to spend 7 million euros on him now.

Small update.

He started today against Australia for Denmark, I saw about 70 minutes.

He played quite well, especially defensively. Made some very good stops in the 1 v 1 and didnt make any of the glaring errors he seems to make at least once a game.

Little sloppy with the ball, but everyone was for Denmark really...surprising for such a good passing team.

Cheers for the update Dani, glad he played well but we'll have to wait and see whether Zeman decides to keep hold of him,I reckon he will give him a chance though seeing as he is one of the best managers around when it comes to young players.

You guys should wait until he revalues himself after the Euros and sell him. Since you're going to play a high-line what's the point of keeping him?

Well he's not ours to sell. He's still on loan from Wolfsburg officially. If we do buy then I would agree.
