Argentine defensive midfielder and captain(ex now I believe) of Racing Club Claudio Yacob has been linked with Arsenal recently following his participation in the bustup that happened in Racing Clubs dressing room. Yacob doesnt appear to be part of the new managers plans.

Lazio ace Hernanes will snub a summer move to Anzhi because he wants to join Arsenal.

It has been reported that Arsenal scouts have been tracking the Brazilian playmaker all season and have been impressed so far.

The 26-year-old has been almost ever-present for Lazio this term and has scored eight goals and set up a further two.

Arsenal remain in the market for fresh midfield additions following the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri last summer, while it is still unclear whether or not Yossi Benayoun will stay at the club beyond his loan.

Brazilian international Hernanes has been targeted by Russian big-spenders Anzhi and it was understood that Lazio were willing to sell.

But La Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that he wants his current club to turn down advances from Anzhi and instead listen to offers from Arsenal.

Lazio paid Sao Paulo around £9m for his services in 2010 and it has been suggested that they are now hoping to double their money on him this summer.

i saw him play against man utd, an he is not the fastest but he is quick footed and has a spring in his step. has good acceleration and wont get beaten easily.

Vertonghen is similar to Vermaelen and we already have Koscielny who is a similar type of player so we need to balance it with towers like Per.

no we dont, our best cb pairing is verm-kosi it doesnt matter if they are similar. no need for hight balance BS, if you are a good defender you play, simple as that. plus verton is tall enough anyway.

there's rumors that we're selling mertesacker as soon as the season ends....

i lol'd. Wenger isn't that wasteful, even if he didn't really want him and was pressured into buying him, I dont think he'd offload him so quick. It's not like Mertesacker was horrible.

This! And I hope we get Hernanes instead of another CB. I find the Mertesacker rumours laughable considering he's been our 2nd best signing.

Just incase we sell Djourou than I'd like him as our 4th defender.
