Chelsea's CB pairing?
Re: David Luiz
Shed wrote:I don't know where this massive "next captain" movement has come from. He has none of the qualities needed to be captain.
He does too, He is a motivator, talks on the field, has great people skills which helps the dressing room, tries to lead by example and even John Terry thinks he makes a great captain.

Re: David Luiz
Hardly even talks in interviews, can't even speak fluent English, is a complete clown, and sets an
on-pitch example I wouldn't even advise Sunday-leaguers to follow. Oh, but he has funny hair and flails his arms around towards the stands to rev up the crowds every now and then, therefore he should be our next captain!!
Please

sure he needs time to grow and mature a bit more, but he has a lot of qualities that the team can look up to off the pitch. Besides terry, lamps, and cech, i feel he can be a leader when the three of them are gone.

I really hope Mourinho can get to him and screw his head on right, if he can, we have a beast of a player on our hands.

It all depends on who's in the side when the time comes that a new club captain needs to be chosen.

Re: David Luiz
I've stated repeatedly that if one of the English lads from the academy that used to captain one or several of their youth teams such as Chalobah are regulars in the team in a few years, that's who I'd prefer.

I don't agree with you, Luiz is still my first choice but I agree we don't need to deal with it yet. We will soon if we plan on intergrating Courtois and Lampard and Terry play less.

That's part of it, yes. More to do with the fact that they've been brought up within the club and actually have a connection to it, though.

Re: David Luiz
I don't disagree with having a connection to the club, it would stop our captains being sold like a certain London club.
BUT, I feel like you don't think DL4 has a connection, I think he does and it will only grow stronger over time.
That said, If Chalobah or Loftus-Cheek or who ever makes it to the first team shows captains qualities, I would have no problem with handing him the arm band.

- FFS Gooners.

Re: David Luiz
I've no reason to believe he has any attachment to Chelsea. He's just a passerby like 97% of the other players. You vastly overrate the attachment most of our players have to the club.

No, most supporters these days blindly believe anything players say into a camera. I'm not that naive.

If you think David Luiz won't be remembered like '97%' of the players, you are wrong. He became a cult hero at the club within two months of joining, He will never be forgotten.

Re: David Luiz
I didn't make any comment about how certain players will or won't be remembered. I said 97% of players have zero real connection or attachment to Chelsea whatsoever.
