I do think the teams have a say in the shirt - a lot of the teams very much stick to a certain style, which they probably want to maintain. Milan shirts are pretty chique, just like the France NT shirts, which are decidedly french etc. Ajax and most other Italian teams very much stick with a certain look too.

The gold Madrid had this year wasn't very classy, but it worked overall, and in general Madrid has pretty same-style shirts with a certain style - simple and quite classy .

Barcelona has notoriously been "experimental" with their shirt, since forever basically, but I doubt it was the same exact designer each year, which makes me think it is more part of the philosophy of the club (Nike doesn't really pull that shit for other teams haha). But they also have a very recogizable style, which is why they can play with the theme.

A team like Chelsea or more recently also Man City are still building their brand worldwide, and will therefore stick more to their original design so they wil be more recognizable.

So it is probably the clubs for a large part.

That Barcelona kit is so ugly. What's with the fading ms paint effect thing it has on the middle? Why couldn't they just stick with the traditional blue and red stripes.

Nike sucks so bad. They've ruined the Barca and United shirts for next season. Evil or Very Mad

Thanks. Military brat. I grew up mainly in Germany and Italy and have always supported Bayern, but admittedly I have a soft spot for AC Milan as well.

Other than that, I support any team with a Yank on the squad.

In reality it's just an excuse to get my wife to watch more football with me.

It seems that Nike deal you were talking about Mole was offered to City instead Razz

City will wear Nike starting from 2013/2014 season. The deal is a huge one btw, City are setting themselves up for a large yearly income thanks to this deal.

Man this sucks. The uniforms are decent but I LOVED the proposed Nike ones that I think were posted earlier in this thread for Newcastle, the ones with the gold trim.

Those were my favorite of all the new club uniforms I saw this year.

Too bad they will never happen.
