Re: Do Madrid fans/players have a Barca superiority complex?
I am not sure what you mean by these quotes, even in 50 years Mourinho wouldnt achieve what barca did.zizzle wrote:Madrid fans are getting what they deserve. It's simply stupid to ask any coach to do in 2 years what Barca have been doing for the past 15 years. Barca's style of football isnt something that you can replicate at senior level and even if you do you just cant beat the masters at their own game.
Reality is that many of us knew it was not the best idea to sign him in the first place, and seeing how he is failing to do his park the bus tactic, it's not exactly shocking.
Madrid fans arent saying "LET"S PLAY LIKE BARCA", no, but they are saying stop putting Pepe-Lass-Alonso in the midfield. That was just retarded, and it made us look pathetic. If you say that he doesnt have the pieces to play like Inter, then why didnt he buy those pieces? he has been in charge of our transfers for 2 summers, and 2 winters now. If you say that we dont have quality midfielders to better, why isnt he signing them?
I am also not saying that we are entitled to beat them, because at the end of the day they are better than us, plainly. But it's the approach we go about losing that is upsetting.

We're entitled to beat them because we're Real Madrid and they're Barcelona. How much better or worse we are beating Barcelona is always something the club expects.
I know it sounds silly but Barcelona feel the same way about us even when they were playing poorly.

since you realize that Barca is the better team then how come you want to go toe for toe against them ? would you rather see attacking football even if it results in a loss ? i know parking the bus isnt working for you guys but you're more likely to scrap a result that way than going all out

There are some (including me) that believe we can beat Barca if we attack more calmly and stay focused through out the 90 minutes.
I personally don't care so long as we win, but we aren't winning.... so the tension comes from there.

Because we are Real Madrid? Clasico is not just a football game, it's a mental warfare, and to me, showing weakness in the way you come out on the pitch is the first step to defeat. The players we have, the tradition we have, are things that naturally push us forward.
Also, playing "de tu a tu" like they say in spanish, means that you try to be more ambitious offensively. It's not about trying to imitate them or dreaming that you can have 50% of possession against them, but it means that you do enough to push forward.
Who says that by trying to push forward you wouldnt be able to scrap a result? if you take away from barcelona's possession, you take away from their "defense" a little bit. You cant let them overwhelm you with 80% of the ball and then hope to scrap a result.

We've never went toe to toe with them, so why not try it?

Toe to toe as in we play how we do vs other teams. Against Barca we hoof the ball all the time.

Re: Do Madrid fans/players have a Barca superiority complex?
Mou has tried multiple times to go more offensive but the end result have the same, loses.
What I'm getting at is that even is Mou deploys a more attacking lineup they'll still look defensive because of the ball possession difference. Every team that plays against Barca looks defensive because they make them look defensive, not because they deploy defensive tactics. Even teams that have an attacking philosophy have looked defensive against Barca.
The fact that they brought Mou in a couple of years ago was a sign of desperation. He had won the Treble with us and beaten Barca but that was playing a certain way that no Inter fan will ever question because at the end of the day we knew that Barca were superior to us in terms of keeping possession and at the offensive end. The only advantages we had were that we could play physical defense and at least at home be able to counter them with all our quick players. It didn't hurt either that our identity is completely different to them, most of our successes have come from playing catenaccio. Real Madrid fans/pundits don't think of themselves as inferior to Barca in some aspects of the game so Mou hasn't able to change that mentality. Even if Madrid wins then they'll say they don't like it because they play defensive.

more like he's nervious coz these madrid fans dont really get it
this season madrid made a new record of the number of points gained in the first half of the season, still they criticise mou for not beatin barca. 2 years ago madrid were the most shaky team ever, at least now they have chemistry
