On paper ,they have the best squad outside the Top 6.Without a doubt.

But then again City had a better squad than Spurs two years ago and Spurs managed to pip them to finish 4th.Anything can happen.

There is no excuse now for not qualifying for Europe now imo.At the very least an EL spot should be secured i reckon.

Squad no way, the back up is pretty thin on the ground, we might be close to them in terms of starting eleven tho maybe even better than Liverpool :coffee:

Newcastle's starting 11 looks very good imo. They should focus on building a squad in the summer. Sign some decent fringe players while of course holding on to their current starters.

Still think there's one problem area in the team tbh........

That is fullback, Santon is great but Simpson isnt really good enough to start for a team with aspirations of top 6.

Then we should focus on doing what Zeal said.

Currently our best right-back is Simpson, always looking to play the ball ahead and at a young age (& with a solid season of progression) could be a part of the team’s defence for seasons to come.

I have faith in him.

Best buy = Van der Wiel(RB and CB) and Jan Vertonghen (CB and LF) defence sorted.

I wish you would go for Cheick Mbengue, another senegalese player, as opposed to Cissokho. Dont get me wrong, Cissokho has been around, he is talented, but he has also been super meh for 2 years now, with some noobish defending in L1.

Mbengue is massively unknown, very underrated, but he is a beast. A lot of upsides imo, and he is part of one of the best D in France.

He cant be that unknown Nick, we had a 6 million bid turned down last summer so we turned our attention's to Santon.
