The Official Goallegacy Best XI Results Thread
And so, after so much hard work on my part *cough* *cough*, YOU, Goallegacy, have chosen the best team of the calendar year 2011! In the almighty 4-2-3-1 formation, the best GK, best fullbacks and centrebacks, midfielders and wingers, strikers and coach. And a bench, of course. Brazil and Spain have 3 players in the XI, with Spain predictably dominating the midfield and Brazil surprisingly the defence. Barcelona have the most players with 4. 6 of the first team players ply their trade in La Liga.
Finally, this is the complete team!
----------Neuer
-Alves-Silva-Vidic-Marcelo
-----Busquets-Xavi
---Messi-Silva-Ronaldo
--------Van Persie
Coach: Guardiola (Assistant: Klopp)
Bench:
Casillas
Lahm
Hummels
Pirlo
Ozil
Di Maria
Gomez
But a project like this has uses beyond the bench. With these painstakingly assembled results, we can observe exactly how our forum rates any one of these players in 2011. Bold means in the XI, italic the bench.
I hope you guys appreciate all this and have enjoyed the whole process.

Great job. Personally I'd have chosen some other players (except for Neuer who was spot on of course), but then, most of them at least made the bench

Re: The Official Goallegacy Best XI Results Thread
Dat team is nice... very nice. Great job.
Only things I would change...
Valdes in for Casillas
Pique in there for Hummels or Vidic
Schweinsteiger in for Pirlo
And I don't know how Iniesta isn't in there, at least on the bench.

You mean, Iniesta... probably the best player behind Messi / Ronaldo can't make a 18 man team in GL? ._.

A German and a Bayern fan are the only ones to say this...

I agree with the Germans, Busquets is out of place in that team.
Good job putting together the list Saetablanca.
