The player of the month award has gone to Newcastle striker Demba Ba, 26, who scored five goals in six matches.

Despite Ba's contribution, United won just one of those six games, losing four.

The Senegalese forward, who will spend much of January and February at the Africa Cup of Nations, scored both Newcastle goals in a 4-2 defeat at Norwich at the start of December.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has been named as the Barclays Manager of the Month for December after guiding the Black Cats to two wins and a draw in his first four Barclays Premier League games in charge of the club.

btw is elmohamady good for you ?is he in the starting 11?
because everytime he plays for the nt he crosses the ball everytime he gets it..and btw egypt isnt in the afcon so he isnt going
