Can you film police in US?
Recently in Illinois the police charged a man for filming police activity in a public place. If convicted the man would end up in jail for 75 years.
There are even some YT videos in which the police become aggressive when they notice someone filming them but when the filmer stands up to them they seem to back off.
So can you film or take photographs of police activity in the US? Personally I don't see what the problem is in filming something or someone in a public place...

Many people have been charged with this offense and they have gotten away. I think its releasing the video to the idea with out the permission of the police is against the law. Not really sure though, but USA has some messed up laws.

You prefer trigger happy cops to calm men who actually have arresting you as their main objective?Grande_Milano wrote:Police in US being police. Simple as that. Respect to people there, as they dont take shyte and act soft like Europe

Oddly enough we've had no such cases of police buffoonery in the socialist state of Denmark.Yuri Yukuv wrote:This is the fatherly protective state that socialists and neo cons have you craving for, the american people got what they deserved

Denmark? Isnt it that place that has twice as many people as walmart does and is engaged heavily in free trade? I heard everyone there shares one great granfrather and are really afraid of foreigners.
Anyways, denmark has the 11th most free economy in the world, so I dont see what you are talking about.
Except for taxes it seems to be pretty libertarian leaning to me (Labor Market, Globalization, Minimizing use of coercive force by police..etc)

Re: Can you film police in US?
It depends on what you define as "socialism". Many Danes define Denmark as a "socialist state" because we've got some of the highest personal taxes in the world, resulting in a large public sector with social security, welfare, free education, free healthcare, military etc. However, as you mentioned, our economy is free because our businesses don't suffer under heavy state bureaucracy and also enjoy qualified labor due to the social system of the country and a handful of other state-funded benefits. The corporate taxes aren't that high either.Yuri Yukuv wrote:Senor Penguin wrote:Oddly enough we've had no such cases of police buffoonery in the socialist state of Denmark.Yuri Yukuv wrote:This is the fatherly protective state that socialists and neo cons have you craving for, the american people got what they deserved

Re: Can you film police in US?
It seems to me very pro business, globalization is strong and the labor markets are by far the most flexible in europe. There is welfare but very tight immigration, this shouldn't be a problem for now but it will be once the population ages.
Anyways when talking about smaller european states we have to remember much of the business there is not domestic but serving to businesses else where through exports (last time I checked denmark had one of top 10 highest exports per capita) also the military is in a way subsidized as they are protected by NATO partners, which in turn enables them to spend more on social welfare.

yeah, except beating them up straight away would create a precedent so retarded it would eventually turn uk police into us police... in real life it's literally impossible to draw a line between reasonable and unreasonable force... it shouldn't be, but that's the way court decisions go

It's funny that you consider events in London to be representative for Europe as a whole and that it's a result of political ideology.Grande_Milano wrote:Senor Penguin wrote:Yeah!!!!!!
