David Luiz is miles better than Hummels with the ball at his feet. No contest.

Hummels is obviously the better defender though.

What a joke thread.Jones and Luiz are in but no mention of Agger.he has been the best defender in the PL this season.

We have best defensive record in the league this season and conceded half of our goals in the 3 games that he didnt play.

Either way Hummels and Pique are best IMO.

Definitely cant look beyond Hummels atm.He is so good technically that he can even be tried out as a defensive midfielder if needed.He's a great long passer tbh.

Also had Bonucci been in good form and realized his potential he would have probably been included in this poll as well.

Hummels is the best right now. A few years ago when Bayerns backline had Demichelis and Lucio, Demichelis was awesome at playing the ball out. Bonucci also deserves a mention.

I did vote others, never said it was a joke thread, everyone is in there, just i thought Lucio was excluded.

And yes, i might be biased, but I've seen Lucio play fantastically with the ball at his feet, when Mourinho was here he always told him to make forward runs and its not rare for him to dribble forwards in dangerous spots.

Agger is top notch in this category, he is amazing on the ball and a great defender, the injuries though... Mad

Also Hummels is amazing on the ball also.
Don't want to say luiz, he isn't really a defender yet more like an attacker player in the defense to make fans by dribbling

Umm Lucio has been doing that since Leverkusen and did it at Bayern as well. I think you're worshipping Mourinho a bit too much there >.>

That's cause Demichelis was a DM, got lazy and wanted to be CB.

I rarely watch Hummels, but seriously, is he that better on the ball than Luiz? Luiz may be a poor defender but there's no doubt about his technical abilities, his goal against United last season was certainly one to be envied by the world's best strikers, maybe Chelsea should try him in a more attacking role.
