Inter > Milan this year
Our season was very exciting actually.A roller coaster till the end,we came back from nowhere to a Serie A contender and potential CL finalist. We had so much more adrenalin rushes than those flegmatic fans
Rafa killed our hopes of doing anything worthy this season, the came Leo...He started on a roll and got us 2 points behind Milan. We've beaten Bayern again in a nerve wrecking match that ended in orgasmic joy. That one moment of Pandev brilliance was more exciting than all of Milan's season.Unfortunately then came Schalke and Milan games where Leo's inexperience had us capitulate, had we won those...Nonetheless,the season was salvaged. We even won 3 trophies...
Milan had a prosaic season with the peak of excitement being the 2 Pippo goals vs Madrid and Kevin Boateng moonwalk.Their football was so unglamorous and Ibra dependant...They're basically a duller version of Inter 2006-2008.
Leo needs to learn to win those big games and next year will be truly orgasmic I just don't know if my heart can take seeing more of 14 than 17 and 29...

Re: Inter > Milan this year
No, not this year. And not this upcoming season either.
We have major plans.
And if you sell Sneijder... very bad move. Our football was Ibra dependent? Ibra faded badly in the second half of the season, and we still won fair and square. We had our other players scoring.
We had three players with 14 goals a piece. And one of those, if he was better finishing (Robinho), could have been the top scorer of the league. But we were not dependent on Ibra. Plus Ibra had two major suspensions in the most important part of the season...
You're Eto'o dependent. Our football was quite attractive.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here
You won because your team had a clearer plan.
Pack the midfield with 3 or 4 defensive minded players, play the ball to your creative stars up front, and let them do their thing
While the interplay between the 2/3 attacking players may have been great at times, that hardly means you're teams play on the whole was attractive...

Come on,it can't be true...You're saying they are ahead of us now for getting Mexes and Taiwo.
Imagine if we got them...What would we do with Mexes? We have two legendary wold class center backs who will be starters for at least one more year and the best young Italian center back who is our future and should be given every game Samuel or Lucio are not playing.Mexes 4th CB?I don't think so...Taiwo is hardly much better than Chivu, mediocre player at best.
Those players are not either needed or match the quality of the players they would be stepping up for.

Re: Inter > Milan this year
Why are you comparing them with our players? They didn't sign for us...
The comparison of our players to those two is irrelevant and useless, what matters is that:
Taiwo >>>>>>>>> Antonini/Zambrotta
Mexes >>>>>>>>> Bonera/Yepes/Whoever
And seeing as how Milan won the title last year in a team with a significant turnover, it does not bode well for us that they have upgraded two of their weakest links...

Re: Inter > Milan this year
I agree with you there no doubt about it...
I'm comparing them to us because I'm saying they did not leapfrog us in quality as you implied in your first post.
With one world class signing and two squad players we will be complete and I'm sure our management isn't that stupid to leave the holes unplugged for two years in a row.

quality is fickle
If you want to do a > = < comparison of us and Milan, we'd win
.....and yet they won the title this year
Direction is whats needed most for us at the moment

What plans? mr x? lol
Only reason Milan won coz of Rafa and
Milan was playing quite attractive football? What Milan did you watched, i dont think you can play attractive football when you have 3-4 DM butchers every game.
Not that it matters at all but Inter was way more attractive, scored more goals, shitload of comebacks

Re: Inter > Milan this year
They won it because Inter was mismanaged...We could have even taken it from them if we won the derby we miserably lost.bhends wrote:quality is fickle

Direction really is needed and we seem to have a plan with Leo but I'm not sure if he's good enough...Weak tactically and big match loser. We won the Bayern game purely thanks to traces of our old mentality and tons of luck...

Re: Inter > Milan this year
We didn't play with 3-4 DMs. We played with two at most, and one CM... usually Seedorf. I don't mind Van Bommel. He's an awesome player, and he made many players look like little fools. Sometimes that's just what you have to do.
And who is to say we won't sign a star? We have a better plan for next season. We will sign more than one great player by the way. We had a left back issues, and we still conceded the fewest number of goals.
You can blame Rafa, or whoever... but it wasn't like Leo was any better... especially not in the defensive department.
We would have won it anyway because we made the proper investments, and Allegri knew what he was doing. And heck, if we didn't get a few unlucky draws, we would have won it much sooner. You can put the blame on Leo, Rafa or whoever... but do not take away credit from us winning it fair and square.
And Inter fans talking about attractive football. Please I don't want to burst out laughing.

Re: Inter > Milan this year
Oh and one other thing. Referees? You can;'t be serious. We had many calls against us, and Van Bommel get sent off in one league game where all the decisions went against us. Don't even try that card please.
If the referees were fair, we would have won the league a week before then we did. Inter fans cannot complain about referees!
And yes compare the teams. We are better in most regards.

First derby: Flamini, Ambrosini, Gattuso
vs Juve: Gattuso, Flamini, Van Bommel, Boateng
The fact that so many Milan fans consider Boateng an attacking mid says it all really...
