Is it because he is generally humble and respectful, literally? Or doesn't like to dive? Enthusiasm for the game? Boyish looks, beastial performances? I don't get it.

I love him because compared to my other country's football national icon (Maradona) he is not a jerk.

And because he seldom gives interviews or talk about other teams or players if not to say something nice. I also love that he rarely speaks about himself.


Generally his low profile is what is so appealing about him. Also his history of being a diseased child struggling to find a way finance his cure through football, or the gestures he makes such as in the zaragoza match that after a tremendous play that causes a penalty he gives Ibrahimovic the chance to shoot it because he had been missing sitters all match long.

He just seems like a really nice guy.

Yeah, since 2006 WC loved the guy and the way he plays. Outside of Chelsea by far and away my favorite player.

I like Messi and I'm a Madrid fan. I love his football style and how he plays, I like his goals and I semi like his personality.
