L'Equipe is reporting that PSG will return chasing Eden Hazard in January.

Qatar Sports Investments gave the green light on a 50M fund to sign the player.

Last summer, l'Equipe already reported that Hazard was very interested in joining the new PSG project.

PSG is looking to replace Nene who has a year and a half left on his contract.

They are still working on signing Beckham, but other names are also mentioned: Tevez (City), Abel Fernandez and Balzaretti (Palermo), Martin Caceres (Sevilla).

Sirigu, Hernandez and Pastore I can understand.

But Balzaretti? Not sure Leonardo has this one right when it comes to raiding Palermo, which has become something of a pastime for PSG.

Balzaretti's a good, competent defender, but I don't think he's what PSG require if they are pushing for a return to the upper crust of European football. He simply doesn't have the experience required for a player his age sadly.

The Balzaretti deal was confirmed by Zamparini, wasn't it, for the end of the season? Not a great move in my opinion.

If this is true, it's just sad.

PSG's revenue in 2010 was €83m. Spending the kind of money they have been and apparently planning on continuing to do is nothing but a hobby for a super rich owner. If they actually tried to build it up and have a moderate approach it would make sense, but this is doing nothing good to football in France and in general.

I'm willing to bet Eden will either stay at Lille next summer or move to one of Madrid, Arsenal or Chelsea.

To be fair to Nene, he's turned it around after the early bad behavior. He's actually tracking back like a madman. I think he realizes that he needs to be a team player to stay with PSG. But he's getting old... which is the bigger problem.

As far as Hazard, PSG made a move on him this past summer and he came out and said publicly "I am very interested in the PSG project". Lille blocked the move because they want to get to CL and win Ligue 1 this year... didn't want to strengthen a competitor. This summer, Lille is going to sell and rebuild. PSG is definitely in the game and the only club Hazard would approve of in France.

Money wise big clubs cant compete with PSG on this one

You know better than me that Pastore was after the arab money. Hazard already said that he was most interested in Arsenal and Real.

Can't see Arsenal shelling out 50m for him. So they're out of the running unless Lille or Hazard personally prefers them over PSG.

Do Madrid or Barca actually need him? Not really.

PSG's the way to go for him I believe.

I can't see RM shelling 50 mil for him either...

i'm afraid that after the park fiasco lille won't be doing any business with arsenal anytime soon...

Chelsea could shell out 50 mil for him.
