TBH, the second half all our midfield was off, so Marcelo didn't get cover from the DM and CR. He was terrible against his opponent but the lowest of the low was his 2nd goal stupid gift. Insane from a Real Madrid player to do this when you play Valencia away. That will be the last time, i'm sure.

Give the guy some slack...he already sucks defensively,then he plays against Valencia at the mestalla after being 3 weeks out,it's not easy.Let's not forget that his covering was pretty awful,cr didn't track back at all

The guy has just been thrown into the field for 90 minutes after an injury. He needs a game or 2 more to really be sharp again.

It wasn't just the 2nd goal he was slacking. He was slacking the whole game, he barely did run or anything. It was just clear he hasn't recovered yet so he was playing careful.

The 2nd goal was a stupid mistake though. But once again, he didn't look fit. He was just as bad attacking as defensively this game. Not his best game.

Marcelo seems the type of player who gets in shape by playing... doesn't look like he's a gym rat by any stretch.

Just looked very out-of-shape in addition to being rusty. If he doesn't get it back in the next 2-3 games, then we can truly criticize. At this point, it was his first game back after 3 weeks and he struggled.

We should cut him some slack, although Mou won't. Wonder if Coentrao, if healthy, plays until Marcelo gets himself together.

leave that fitness issue there,that 2nd goal was purely due to his lack of concentration and seriousness than match fitness.

How do you stop running in such a situation?

No excuses for that.

I know its not an excuse,but that ball was almost 100% sure to go off the backline.this type of stuff comes with experience,I'm sure he won't stop like that again
