Pique, Adriano, Affelay, Sanchez and now Iniesta.

Unless I am mistaken, I think all muscle injuries.

So whats going on?

Pre-season not done correctly?

We sack the same medical staff he was in Peps first year between then and now?

Could be down to an issue of luck. I'm not sure if anything has changed on the structural level at the club.

Perhaps players didn't keep themselves as fit as they should have during the long break, which increased their likelihood of them getting injured?

If it is luck, then it probably means that the likelihood of getting injuries later on is not as high, so that could benefit us. I'd rather be injury plagued now than later.

It's very worrying. In the end, what makes a great season is that there are few injuries (08-09 and 10/11). When we are injury plagged, like in the 09/10 our performance obviously declines. We bought Fabregas and Sanchez for that purpose, but we are having a lot of injuries in defence, sanchez is already injured, Iniesta is injured, and now Cesc, who is injury prone as hell, will have to play a lot.

Cesc is not the real worry, it's Xavi. Should he get injured 2 pillars of the team would be gone, and I'm not so sure about how Cesc - Thiago would replace them. Perhaps Busi could play the Xavi role better than either of those two? Other than that it's the midfield where he have the most amount of depth.

Busquets centermidfield? Another excuse to play Keita at DM, no thanks.

Cesc and Thiago would have to do fine.

I dont worry about Xavi, sure he is older but he has probably still had less injuries then Cesc. Not even probably, I am pretty sure of it.

Good point dani. Xavi has amazing fitness levels - almost comparable to Javier Zanetti.
