Hargreaves joining City
....had a lot of respect for Hargreaves, wished him all the best when he left the club...so much has changed, hope he fails miserably and just collects his wages and never plays

Re: Hargreaves joining City
I agree with Vibetribe. I don't blame him for going to a team who look like competing and are playing in the CL.
The guy is desperate to play for a club, and out of WBA, Villa and City, I know which club I would choose to play for if I was in his position...and it ain't the 2 clubs from Birmingham.
I still love the guy, but I don't wish him the best.

That's a bit harsh mate. He was working so hard to try and regain fitness and did all he can to try and get a game. He even offered to play for free for us. I just feel so sorry for him.

Re: Hargreaves joining City
After reading Scott The Red's post on this transfer, and after realizing that he is on a pay-as-you-play deal and after reading he has missed out on City's CL squad list, I've come to realize that this guy is a massive prick for going there!
He could have went to WBA and got a lot of games instead of going from one bench to another. Atleast he could have shown some respect to the United fans and not join our bitter rivals.
Thanks for the memories, or whatever, you crock!

It's because we spent so much effort and time and he stabbed us in the back, it's like he didn't appreciate us.
Obviously you feel different now though.
To me: keep my loyalty to the club that stuck by me> playing CL football. And he's not even in the squad for that, but I think he can get called up for the knockout stages
The irony is, the fans that probably wished him the worst when he was injured, are the one's that might benefit from his fitness.

Re: Hargreaves joining City
It's like, why go to City when it's blatantly obvious they are signing you just to "get one over on United". He is not gonna get more than 2 games, I guarantee anyone.
You are right about the appreciation part. I know he was a free agent, but common sense should've told him going to WBA over our most hated rival would have not only been more respectful towards Utd and the fans, but also more beneficial for him to get a lot of games.

Re: Hargreaves joining City
hes tarnished his united career in my opinion. it seems to me like a big f. u to sir alex for letting him go. after the two years we followed him when he was at bayern to the years we paid him to sit on the treatment table and this is how he repays us.

Re: Hargreaves joining City
I remember when Redondo came to Milan and was ridden with injuries as it was quite frusterating.
Difference was, he actually offered to reduce his wages and give back the Audi that Milan gives it's players.
Did Hargreaves do any of that? Not really.
Now he spits in the face of united and SAF and disgraced himself by moving to a worthless club.
What a shell of a man.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if he did it as a way at getting back at SAF and the club.

All though I see your point KSA....But WTF Hargreaves!!
Already hargreaves was useless to United for a few years as United continued to spend money on his treatment and on his considerably high salary.
Years go by, SAF, his staff and teammates remain patient with his brittle condition, and when he is told to leave, he takes it like this?
I hope he knows what a financial liability he was to United and him getting crocked after every 30 minutes did not help, nor did him turning 30.
Its like if God asks assists us under the hardest of times and right when he ceases to do so, we start bitching and moaning and turn 180 degrees on him.
If anything, Hargreaves should be thankful to SAF and united for putting up with his weak body all those years.
Footballers of today aren't men anymore yet simply are men in skirts as Roy keane aptly puts it.
Real class act.

This is a thread DV92 started a couple of months ago, completely tarnished and ruined his United rep, since then.

He has the nerve to come out to the press today and try to blame the United medical team for him being a crock. The nerve of this idiot...smh.

Re: Hargreaves joining City
I actually didn't mind him leaving for City. He's 30 and he was give the chance to play UCL football, Title challenge, and big wages and as a player who wouldn't want that but after what he said. I lost all my respect for the guy.

Re: Hargreaves joining City
It's not exactly them just picking up seconds. Back in his day, Hargreaves was arguably the best defensive midfielder in world football. If he was able to retain his fitness, he could come close to that again. City have made a very brave decision with this signing and it is one that could pay off.
