Stoke want Lukaku on loan
Well that comes as a big surprise.
Too bad they won't get him, otherwise they would have walked the Europa League.

Why you Chelsea fans against this? Lukaku won't get many games in the blue shirt this season, I think this move would be fantastic for all parties. Only downside would be that Crouch wouldn't be going to Stoke

Nah I would keep Lukaku. He had a good game against Norwich and I suspect he would be one to call on a few times this season. Plus Stoke won't help his development...if he wanted to continue with long balls he would have stayed at his former club. Training with WC players would only help him.
Plus Lukaku has said that he will never go on loan.

Re: Stoke want Lukaku on loan
I think playing regular PL football would help him the most, no matter for which team and Stoke, regardless of their style, are a respectable mid-table team nowadays. With Torres, Drogba, Anelka and Sturridge already fighting for attacking spots, I'd defo loan out Lukaku to another BPL club if possible.
Could be a Sturridge N:o 2 scenario where the player comes back as a much readier product.

There were rumours that his contract states he cannot be loaned.

IMO it's more important that he develops technical skills. Currently he's behind Drogba and Torres, but with AFCON this season and Drogba not looking all that great, he should get a good amount of time.

Re: Stoke want Lukaku on loan
Well obviously it's no good sending anyone out on loan if they don't want to go, but I'm just thinking that having seen the situation at Chelsea, Lukaku - with him being something like the 4th choice striker - might be more willing to go on loan now.
Because realistically it doesn't look like he will get a single BPL start this season, which is very understandable at his age at a big club.

Well, all I can say is that in my opinion it would be a fantastic opportunity for him to go on loan to Stoke or another mid-table BPL club. Just like it was for Sturridge.

Re: Stoke want Lukaku on loan
for me, the more minutes the better and if that means he has to go to stoke, then off he goes to stoke
the kids not a finished product yet and even though we wouldnt want him getting too acustomed to the stoke style of play, i think theres alot a team of stokes quality could teach him
if it were to happen though id like to see three clauses in the contract
1. assuming fit he must make at least 10 starts in the PL and play 65+ mins in each start
2. if fit he must be selected vs chelsea, this does not count toward the 10 starts from 1.
3. loan expires Jan 1

So you can't buy a player and send him on loan to another PL club in the same window? What kind of rule is that?

Stoke hell no, I'd rather him go on loan for 3months to Everton or Newcastle.

Re: Stoke want Lukaku on loan
"Stoke have failed in an attempt to sign new Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku on loan, Press Association Sport understands. The move fell foul of Premier League rules, which forbids a player being lent to another top-flight side during the same transfer window that he joined his parent club. "

Re: Stoke want Lukaku on loan
Its a decent rule tbh, stops there being any chance of clubs buying players on behalf of others.

Re: Stoke want Lukaku on loan
No one at the minute because the rule stops them
But say if Fergies son had got preston into the prem, there might of been potential.
The owner of spurs & Arry are very friendly with Mike Ashley at newcastle.
There are all kinds of relationships between owners in football and dodgy deals.
Rules like this prevent them.
