Porto is using the exact same defensive tactics as we are. Barca frustrated and unable to work their possession game.

Barca's going to see it all season long with teams that have the personnel to pull it off.

Defensive monstrous mistake... not a barca buildup leading to goal.

Porto don't have the personnel to sustain the pressure they need. Did it very well for 30 mins. Now starting to make mistakes.

Actually Valencia did. They were the ones who started pressing Barcelona up front and messing up the build-up from the back.

Barcelona - Valencia have always been great matches...

What destroyed barca was the really well done offside line + a lot of pressure from the front trio.

First goal was a awful mistake from guarin who passed the ball to messi,in the second goal Porto was just dead in the final minutes,they knew they werent going to score + red cards.

I actually don't like gambling the offside line that Porto did. I'd rather play pressure and fall into a conventional but aggressive defense if the pressure is breached (like we do it in madrid). With the offside tactic, sooner or later you'll get caught.

you way isnt working though...i would just risk the offside line at least once.

Not even a little bit. They don't have the horses to do it. They spent almost all their time defending the last 1/3 and played like panzies... but they are panzies. So that's not surprising.

park the bus is suicide,you have to attack and make them do defensive mistakes,mainly Alves and Puyol.

Inter did it before you, and Chelsea before then, I'm not sure how much credit Madrid can take in this situation.

We don't park the bus though. Our defense is predicated on getting the ball back quickly and going for direct attacks. We actually held more possession than Barca in leg 1 of the supercup for the first time in Pep's era at Barca (read this somewhere).

We're not looking to play anti-game... we're taking their game to them lol.

offsides trap is too risky. There's no need for Madrid to do that. Porto and others... not a bad idea because the talent deficit is extreme. We're evenly matched in terms of talent with Barca.
