TBH, i can see Germany wining the tournament next year, they will have better and more experienced players (from the WC 2010), I would say Germany!

Player like Puyol, Capdevilla, Villa and Xavi won't be at their best anymore, but Spain have enough talent to replace these players like Cesc, Silva, Mata etc..
Ramos will fill in for Puyol with Arbeloa going RB.

I still think Spain will be the best with Germany runners up.

There is no doubt that Germany have talent. but spains stars are just bigger.

imo Germany is a very good team but spain is number 1 atm. and they will be favourite to win Euro 2012.

Tbh, Spain should look pretty similar to the way they do now. It is afterall only a year away and if they can stay healthy Spain should be cool for 2012. It may come down to Spain/Germany but Spain has got their number.

I'm asking this Question cuz i keep hearing that Germany is FUTURE etc.. & they will win Euro 2012 & WC 2014 ( more experienced than WC 2010..) but what people forget that Spain has both Experience & talent ( promising & proven players)..while German Players who are also very talented not talented/experience as Spanish Team..

i'm not denying that Germany has the talent & great ones ( ozil, neuer, goetze, muller, hummels etc.. & they still have gomez, lahm & schwein)..

But, If we u take a look @ Spain Nt players..

Casillas (30, as GK he can ply for 6 years @ least)
Subs Valdes/Reina & they have Dea Gea (21) for the Future!

Pique (24), Ramos (24), Busq (22), Iniesta (27), Silva (25), Pedro (23),Mata (22)...

So if we look @ current Spain NT.. its still young..

So Spain should find a gd replacement for puyol.. cuz imo Xavi can keep playing for WC 2014 ( @ this level)

Casillas

Arbeloa - Ramos - Pique - Jose Enrique

Xavi/Cesc/Borja - Busq/Javi M/Alonso - Iniesta/Cazrola

Silva/Navas - Villa/Torres/Negredo - Pedro/Mata

Upfront: Villa/Torres/Negredo/Soldado alot of great players..
& has very promising talents for future like:
Morata/Paco/Bojan/Munian

Wingers: Deulofeu/Jese etc..
Other Players like: Thiago/Isco/Sergi Roberto/Sarabia etc..

Defence: might be the problem in WC 2014.. cuz Puyol will retire after Euro 2012..
But Ramos cab play CB with Arbeloa RB until players of Youth teams get ready to play CB for NT..
- Spain U-21: Dominguez/Botia/.. etc..
- Spain U-20/ U-19: Bartra/Muniesa/Gomez etc..

=====================

Imo, Spain can win Euro 2012, perform well in WC 2014!

btw Speaking about youth, do u know that:

Spin will play in Euro U-21 from 11 until 25 June ( Olympic games London 2012) while Germany didn't even qualify for Euro U-21..

Do u know that Spain will be playing in Euro U-19 from 20 July until 1 August while Germany couldn't qualify..

Do u know that Spain will play in WC U-20 from 30 July until 20 August, while Germany couldn't qualify!!

Well, I think Germany and Spain's chances to win are pretty equal. Anyway, we probably have to pass the Netherlands (EC) or Netherlands and Brazil (WC) if we want to get to the final, which we shouldn't take for granted either Very Happy

I want Germany to win it but Spain are Favorite.

Netherlands, England, France and Italy can surprise us, although the first is more likely to.

IMO Its:

1- Spain
2- Germany/Holland ( i really want to see a match between these too teams) Hlland defence is not that gd.. but they have players like ROBBEN & RVP upfront with Sneijder & Afellay etc.. so would be great match to watch..

btw what is your best defence for Germany!

Lahm - Hummels - Howdes - Schmulzer??

Or Mertesacker/ Friedrich Or combination of both?

---------------------

Italy & France can make a surprise u never no:P

Yeah, Lahm - Hummels - Höwedes - Schmelzer sounds good to me. I just hope Löw will give them sufficient time to gel together, then they can be really good.

And true, one should never count out Italy. If there is another Germany - Italy match up in the EC, things will get really interesting. (We have to defeat them for once in a competitive match, FFS!)

I don't think Italy is any good atm.

Maybe they will have a better team 3-4 years down the road.

Well, for some reason it is irrelevant how good or bad either Italy or Germany is - those drat Italians just manage to scrape by somehow. We really have to change that - and soon! Razz

Spain still has a great team, but their new "stars" are no where near the level of their older ones, in my opinion. Once Xavi and Puyol retire they will have problems.

So it's Germany for me, if they get their act together.
