Britain is being asked if City owner is fit to be owner! There are allegations that he has helped Russian oligarchs evade sanctions including luxury yachts. Could City get the same treatment as Chelsea did?

It would actually be a shame after they seemed to get it all together with Haaland to win everything.

This whole Russia-Ukraine conflict really brings out the hypocrisy of the EU states + UK, as sad as it is. I don't agree with the actions taken against Abramovich and whatever may or may not happen to other 'untasteful' owners.

A Ukrainian human rights activist, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has hired UK lawyers to inquire whether the Premier League and the Football Association have taken any steps to ascertain whether Mansour “remains a person suitable to be an owner of a football club”. Mansour bought the club in 2008 and has invested billions into transforming it into one of the world’s most successful teams.

The lawyers have also called on the UK government to investigate press reports that Mansour has been “central to the flow of Russian assets to the UAE in the period after the Russian invasion”.


this was started by an Ukrainian activist, so not sure what EU as a whole has to do with it

besides, how is it surprising that EU cares more about this conflict than others? obviously you care more about your neighbor brandishing weapons rather than something happening a block away or in the suburbs which doesnt affect you directly. The EU isnt the nanny of the world, its a political body that works for the benefit of the member countries and there is direct threat of russian airstrikes and this also has a deeper meaning whether clubs should be owned by states.

Countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia are still doing business with Russia and have not imposed any sanctions on their citizens. This is a non-story.
