Attack them. That will force Alves and Abidal to really stay back. Barca becomes really dangerous when they have guys overlapping at will and you surrender midfield dominance. We have the athletes to recover on defense now. We also have enough technical skill in the midfield assuming Sahin and Alonso are both healthy.

No reason to resort to extreme tactics.

A lot of differing opinions here. Hopefully the Supercopas will sort out how we should deal with them.

IMO best way to approach is 1 DM (pepe) and 2 attackind cms (Xabi and Sahin). barcas midfield > ours so we have to use a dm imo, i also liked the marcelo + di magia combo, i liked it alot when di magia played left with marcelo they worked together very well and they both rape the life out of any lb, so i think we should use that too but that means özil cant play so idk... alot of options

Coentrao/Arbeloa-Ramos - Carvalho - Marcelo

Xabi - Pepe - Sahin

Di Magia - Higuain - CR7

I like what I'm seeing but I think Özil needs to be worked into the lineup

Thinking of a way to work Higuain and Ozil in there.

Why is everybody discussing formation and tactics and such. i had the impression Madrid fans thought they already knew how to beat Barca and were just robbed last time they met.

We were robbed but we can't change that now. As far as beating them. We are very capable of being them. That 1st classico was a wake up call last year. They are a GREAT team but they def aren't unbeatable. I think players like Coentrao and Sahin are gonna be great additions especially for these games. My lineup would be

I really like Ozil but he hasn't done anything against Barca. Hopefully that will change this season. I would also like to play Marcello and Coentrao at LB and RB but I have no clue how Coentrao would be on the right side

yes, last season ozil didn't score/ assist againt Barca, but saying he didn't do anything is just unfair, especially with him only on pitch half the game most of the time playing with tactic that didn't suit him

doesnt matter what formation we use as long as the players included run up and down the field, and when defending leave very little space.
