UCL QF 2019/20 | Atalanta Vs PSG

Im just glad PSG won, for some reason I just like to watch stars play and seeing Mbappe back linking up with NEymar is just a joy to watch as a football fan. Everytime I see Neymar shine though on the pitch I still feel a bit of sadness of what if he stayed, the best tri ultra attacking 3 of all time, it would have been a blessing for all football fans to watch for years at Barca

Both teams missed players but in the end Alatanta did so well and played above their level to take PSG right till the end there.

Gutted for Atalanta tbh. They gave everything, but just fell short.

Mbappe coming off the bench when they're tiring like that is a straight up cheat code.

I say it due to the immediate change of strategy right after the goal, to which wasn't late into the game let alone first half. And that change was defending the lead.

I also felt the same. Atlanta did try to keep hold of the ball but simply failed, out of tiredness, probably quality also.

All I care is Tuchel progressed. I think he is doing decent job with regards to the dressing room atmosphere and squad management. I hope he goes till the end.

Same. I think all their players' market values have gone up because of their recent achievements. Transfermarkt is not very reliable.

9,47 on Whoscored. He was absolutely insane in this game, uncontainable, always several steps ahead. Best individual performance i've seen in a long time, vintage Messi-esque almost.

Icardi and Sarabia looked like juniors next to him. This game was basically Neymar FC vs Atalanta Bergamo, at least until Mbappe came on.

I am curious what is the max they have spent on a player in last 2 seasons?

It really was Neymar mostly in attack creating the problems for Atalanta though not so much in the second half when he was allowed less space.

He should be in about his prime by now so next 2 years will be crucial to how he is seen in the footballing history books.

I'd say a better point of comparison is that Neymar's wage alone is worth that of the entire Atalanta team

Muriel from Sevilla for €15 million. Tbh him, Gómez and Iličić are their only players I'd heard of before. The rest were unknown to me.

PSG going to have a hard time with Icardi looking like he did... been like this from the start of post-covid.

You can see the rust on players when the finals balls and finishing are poor. You can only get sharp there in real games, not exhibitions.

Zapata was 25m iirc. I think that's their record.

Ilicic in particular was a coup. Atalanta signing him from Fiorentina was a proper statement

both of these give better perspective. Let's see how they do it next season in Serie A and CL both.
