City are good. Arsenal are shite.

If Arsenal can sign some good players again I might start looking forward to games, but until then...

Just watching this game

how the fuck do you arrive at that front three, as Arsenal manager

Nketiah is Championship level, at best

Saka is completely lost on the right side

Aubameyang is completely and utterly wasted as left winger

This is a 40 goals a season striker.
What is he doing there? He's not in the game at all. They don't pass to  him, they don't find his runs, he hasn't had a good ball all game.

fucking joke

The only thing he learned from sniffing Pep's butt hole is weird formations.

And those might work when you're outspending the other teams in the competition by a factor of 10 and got stars everywhere on the pitch, but not when you got a bunch of Chelsea youth team rejects from your academy.

Surely somewhere in this world, there must exist young, not too expensive centre backs, that a, let's be honest, filthy rich Premier League club like Arsenal could afford, and which are not in fact old, slow, completely brain dead, and hopelessly clumsy trainwrecks of defenders

Luiz Mustafi combo, after some 30+ old Spanish nobody from Brazil is injured ffs

whoever Arsenal's DoF is, he's stealing a living

to think a club like RB Leipzig have picked up their brilliant three man defense Klostermann, Koyate and Upamecano for a combined 11m €

Scouting requires effort. Why do that when you can call up your agent friends and get a quick deal? Or spend 72m on a winger when the defence and midfield need strengthening.

Overrated. Why not just refuse to spend money year after year and then sack your manager and bring in a has-been when a squad that hasn't changed in 5 years starts underperforming?

well let's be fair, we only lose 1-0 if it wasn't for David Luiz. Sure sure, we didn't have any attacking prowess at all for the whole game, but there was a time in that first half i actually liked our organisation. And there were a couple of opportunities we actually could've exposed City on the counter attack if it weren't for absolute wasteful passing. Our midfield is really really really really dire, let's just be honest hey. Inspires no hope at all.

it's just a matter of having the quality players in midfield and defense tbh, which we don't by any stretch atm.

I've been saying Guendouzi is shit for a while and have generally received push back. Glad to see someone with the same opinion.

I will admit, of course, that he's a young player in a dysfunctional squad, so perhaps he's got something in him. I just don't really see it.

I've concluded that if you have hair like David Luiz,

You will be launched into super-stardom since I have wondered and posted about Luiz's launch into the upper echelon of football for 8 years now.

How not only he is the most overrated CB of this generation but how he continuously finds minutes in top-flight football let alone all the mins he did for Brazil where he spent half his time crying before and after the match.

How his decent offensive skills never did make up for his shambolic defence and poor backline leadership.

If you have hair like him you will be hyped and that's why Guendouzi has the hype he does despite not being anything remarkable.

Arteta and Arsenal's fault for playing Luiz as it is.

To be honest I did not even see the match and based this on Gunners complaining yet again about Luiz yet its the same type of blunder as when Mustafi was bought, a defender with no track record of defence.

And Luiz never did much in attack as it is beyond bringing the ball up well to the attacking side of the pitch and hit n hope long passes.

well at least yesterday's starting line up showed that Arteta has seen the light on him (Luiz) and Ozil.

hopefully Xhaka is next on the list

Mustafi has actually been our best defender this season, but i've been vocal about my dislike towards him as a player in previous seasons. So i dont know what to make of him as of now. Whether he will keep his recent form up or go back to his blunderous self next season

Always felt Mustafi is one of those who does have ability but his concentration is so poor is he is prone to lapses and then comes his lack of ability to maintain composure in tough situations. Hence why he is a meme due to his blunders.

Certainly hope such a string of decent performances can amount into bringing out what he can be, for once.

Mustafi has made far fewer blunders since Arteta took over. Not saying he doesn't still make mistakes but the comedy reel has come to an end. Even Luiz for a time was playing well, but he self-destructed yesterday. He's likely leaving in two weeks when his contract expires so maybe that was on his mind, but still you could see why he didn't start the game.

In any case, it's amazing how Arsenal have seven centre defenders in their first team and about five of them range from mediocre to poor.
