Christian Eriksen says he joined Inter Milan because they are more likely to win trophies than Tottenham.

Eriksen joined the Serie A side last month in a £16.9m move signing a four-and-a-half-year contract at the San Siro after his Spurs contract was due to expire in the summer.

I mean that's pretty much the main criticism of the squad that's been around since 2015, so...am I supposed to be surprised?

It happens to many teams who aren't top, top teams. Until recently this was common for Liverpool. Why did Suarez leave?

I think Tottenham will be fine, but their defence has seen better days. More so than Pochettino’s influence, I believe great recruitment has been key to their success in recent time.

Like with so many other, top teams, they’re in a situation where they need to phase out the players that aren’t physically up for the challenge and/or no longer have the same level of motivation.

They’ve signed some young players in midfield that might elevate the team in the near future, but it feels like their back 4 has been screaming for a change for so long now.

We've always been fucked over by incompetent officiating, so it's nice to have a proper system in place. VAR BLESS.

I know it's just SPL but man Odsonne Édouard looks incredible for Celtic.

Too good for that league. Can't see him there for long.

Liverpool should have had till now 25 wins out of 25. So embarassing that they are trying to help ManUtd every bit. Doesnt matter how much they try to stop us, we wont back out now. Fight till the end and get the trophy home sooner or later.

SPL is more challenging and far tougher than one would think. A lot more quality than expectations behold.

Where they fail in Europe? Terrible coaching as a whole and lack of adaptation to such pastures and tactics.

Does anyone know why this match day is sprawled over two weekends?

AFAIK there's no FA cup games this weekend, neither Carabao.
So why does Liverpool and half of the other teams get another week off while other teams have to play?

And why did they then make the fuzz about the FA cup and the winter break when the winter break isn't evenly distributed for the different clubs anyway?

Why is this so messy?

I guess it is simple, every team gets almsot 2 weeks break. It is just about which weekend they will get free, for some teams: it is either this weekend or the next one. But in the end each team will end up getting a break.

ok

so but why then not have the teams that have a FA cup replay play this weekend and give them the full break after?
And the teams not in the FA replays could have had the full break now?

Anyway, it just seems a mess to me. How hard can it be just to give everyone a break at the same time?
I mean, FA Cup replays this week, match day this weekend, NO MATCH DAY next weekend. It's not that difficult.
But god forbid the poor people have to spend one weekend without being able to watch Brighton v Watford

Exactly why Klopp gave no fucks about a misalignment between the PL and the FA.

AFAIK, the Premier League didn't want a weekend without a game, and this staggered break was their best compromise. Every team still gets two weeks off. It's the gameweek after the break is over for everyone that's going to be weird, with some teams having been off for two weeks and others having played the week before.

Where this gets messier is that the FA have to look after the interests of the Football League as well, hence FA Cup replays having very fixed dates. The 4th round replays happened to fall during the PL's new break, and apparently they warned clubs this would be the case.

Incidentally, the PL has now voted to change the dates of the transfer window back to what it was before. Next summer window will now close the same date as the rest of Europe, instead of before the season starting.

Football governance in England is great fun, really.
