You guys, Neither Asensio nor Rodrygo are goal scorers. Your comparison to Vinicius couldn’t be further from reality. Vinicius is the best prospect, if he can develop his finishing. There is promise being shown but in no way can you assume he will overcome this (current) liability.

Asensio and Rodrygo are play makers more than anything else. Actually their skill sets are similar to Zidane (not saying as good). They will get some goals, but their strength is making chances. Until you have a more traditional 9 and a winger who can actually score, both of them are exposed.

It’s up to them to prove / convince that they deserve to stay. (As it is for most of squad this year). As Nick pointed out a while ago, if Flo does bring in Mbappe as a winger, then that likely will mean one or both oF Rodrygo or Asensio will go. Plus their is another kid of same skill sets waiting in the wings - Kubo.

We obviously need some holes to be filled in lineup. We have the Isco replacement on Odegaard (more than likely an improvement. Modric and Kroos are likely replaced with Valverde and Camavinga. I see the possibility of a 2 man central midfield with those two meaning they could go with two more forward midfielders in Odegaard plus one Asensio, Rodrygo or Kubo and then two forwards such as Mbappe and Halland.

But....all this is well in future and speculation is just that. In the interim what club is trying to do is determine who deserves to stay and what holes arein lineup. After 5 or 6 games into a new season is way to early to make and determinations let alone to cast players aside!

Lol, that lineup would cause nightmares for defense.

Might as well say put defense plus Courtois and Casemiro and one end of field and 5 forwards at other end!

Hala, are you not forgetting how disastrous Vinicius was last season when he did get time at RW. As good as he has looked, it has only been from LW spot. I would rather Zidane move Hazard to other wing or Am behind Benz. I do agree with you that Vinicius deserves start to see if he can develop some finishing.

Edit: Sorry Hala, I misread your comment, just realized you were talking about LW starts for Rodrygo. I agree with you.


As to LW, i rather see both Asensio and Rodrygo gets starts instead of Lucas, or go with Vinicius, Jovic, Benz as was tried last week.

Let’s hope Vini has a good game because he’s the only spark in this team. Valverde with nacho and shit Asensio on the right has to up his level too compared to his last games

Lucas Vazquez was actually really good at right back.

Mendy is a beast. His speed and strength is crazy.

Game was great, but we cannot act like everything is back in order. Players tend to elevate their game in big matches. Its comforting that the most criticized of this past week (Asesnsio, Varane, Kroos) played great today but its all a matter of consistency.

Interesting that the same set of players that produced two spineless performances can all of sudden rise up in a Clasico. Nice. Glad to know we were just being unprofessional.

Watching Vini make bad decisions and not being able to pass the ball are things that raised my anxiety so much but outside of that, we did really well. Proper win and Zidane really really really needed this.

Rodrygo is honestly so shit.

Asension is so slow!

Both need to leave before Mbappe and Haland arrive.

Yea Asensio worked. It was good to see.

I like when he drifted in field at times. He has great control of the ball.

He looked like he lost some pace since he's recover from his injury. But he has the skillset to play without being dependant on pace.

Vinicius' football IQ isn't the highest, but he can work on it and improve his decision making.

Valverde was great. Hopefully he not injured too badly.
