How silly were some Serie A fans with their assessment of Bruno? I bet most of them didn't even know who he was or barely paid attention to what was going on outside of their top 6 bubble, yet they acted like they're an authority on the guy's career and potential.

Calling him the rich man's Lampard two years ago only for him to break Lampard's scoring record in his first full PL season.

That's a great achievement.

However, it's still not close if you remove penalties from both players (and I am not saying that as a criticism of Bruno, but a simple statement of fact that scoring penalties is easier than scoring any other kind of goal).

How many pens did lampard score?

A player that for me blends what it is to be a midfield vs forward. Still an amazing achievement and one of the best in the PL this season, if not the best.

On 09/10, Lampard scored 10 penalties out of 27 goals compared to 13 penalties out of 28 goals for Bruno this season.

Also, Lampard scored his goals in fewer minutes and matches than Bruno. However, that season was also Chelsea's highest-scoring season, so that obviously helped their attacking output.

Throughout his career, Lampard scored 60 penalties, compared to 43 by Bruno so far.

He's not called Penandes for nothing.

Who is ignoring his assists?

I talked specifically about the goal-scoring aspect, and why it is less impactful a bit than Lampard's goal-scoring achievement. But if we are also going with assists, then Lampard had 18 assists in that same season compared to 17 assists by Bruno this season. Again, in fewer games.

Doesn't change the fact that United would be in mid-table without Bruno. He is probably one of the most important players for their team this year.

This Utd team is much worse than Chelsea 09/10. Bruno's achievement is nothing short of amazing.
