Messi and Alves were on another level, unfair to compare

Messi and Alba is more of a through ball and then return pass kind of connection. Messi and Alves were playing link-up football in the smallest spaces like they were on the training ground.

Typing that out reminded me of how good Alves was lol. He had the athleticism of a fullback with the skillet of a midfielder...one of the GOAT FB.

@Arq Lucas, Bale and benzema is is enough for now, an extra winger and cf is good as long as their decent and are OK with backup duties, if it was really up to me I would go llorente and casemiro in the middle, while modric and Kroos focus on dictating tempo and creating chances, Marcelo and carvajal provides width Benz and bale focus on scoring/linking up while taking turn as SS/Cf similar to benz/CR partnership, end of the day isco and asensio need to sit on the bench until they realize they aren't superstars because marca says so.

Time to turn things around in new year . bring on Villareal.

Frankly none of the current front three players deserve to wear the Madrid shirt, perhaps bar Bale (and he should be on the bench, not a starter). Benzema has been dead wood for a couple of years. Asensio, Vázquez and Mariano are bench players at best and let's be honest Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo were signed as Uncle Flo's butthurt response to Neymar going to Barça instead of Madrid. They are likely not to get any time in Madrid and shipped to Getafe for consecutive seasons.

Best player left, key players are ageing. Florentino needs to spend big this summer if he still cares about this club. Perhaps he got bored with this project though.

And the club hires Solari, a man who the Castilla watchers would tell you that he is an atrocious manager. Not even Liverpool losing...actually that's a lie, Pool losing actually makes up for this.

Watching Januzaj (@Firenze) destroying random Madrid players every few minutes is pretty entertaining.

Marcelo is just hanging out. Benzema has gone from GOAT DM to ghosting harder than Hazard in his best ghost form. Ramos is still an idiot. Casemiro gave up a penalty only 2 minutes in. Vazquez is such a poor man's Callejon, at least he is out there trying though, and his very poor cross ended up hitting the post. Modric and Kroos can pinpoint any player on the field still but no one is making useful movements and they can't be bothered to defend counters.

Only Vinicius is exciting to watch on Madrid.

After Vinicius does a beautiful move, and La Real proceeds to create 3 goal scoring chances in a row (really should be up by another one in the second half), Vazquez get's himself rightfully sent off, rips up his shirt on the way out of the field too
