That third goal was unforgivable.

2-1 isn't a good scoreline but it's much easier to turn around at home because we'd only need to win 1-0. So to see us commit men up the pitch in the dying minutes, lose possession on a throw in and get countered was the most Arsenal thing.

Now we have to score two and hope we don't concede. And I say hope because this team and cleansheets have not gone together at all this season.

Sokratis was a total moron btw. Kicking out at players, getting easily turned and beaten on the dribble. XHAKA was lucky, too. And Gunedouzi not tracking his man yet again cost us a goal.

I don't blame Emery for this at all. He set us up well in the first half and we looked to be in control, but his players have let him down tonight and against Spurs.

I don't see us keeping a clean sheet unfortunately, need to score 3 at least at home.

The good news is that okay Rennes beat us, but it's still only Rennes. If we play to our potential, we'll beat them by 2+ goals and go through in the next leg. It was a shit result, a very Arsenal result, but all is not lost and we've come back from worse positions against better teams before.

I'm more concerned about the impact that this result will have on our mentality and fatigue levels going into the weekend. Our game against Utd is a big one if we want to get into the top 4. I really want to beat Utd - I hate that team as much as any and we haven't beaten them enough in recent years despite them declining. Now, we're going into that game having just played over 1/2 of a European away game down to 10 men where we lost, and we have 1 less day of recovery than them, and they have a ton of momentum. I hate losing to them as much as I hate losing to Spurs and I don't have a good feeling about it after yesterday's result.

I have zero confidence about arsenal winning the next two games.

Need to up the tempo again in the second half and get 2 more goals Inb4 we concede in 94th min.

Good half. Wiped out the deficit quickly and have yet to concede a shot on target.

It's an odd position to be in, though, since we now have to decide if we want a third or to sit a 2-0 lead knowing one Rennes goal requires us to score two more. Rennes haven't had a shot yet but they still carry some threat.

Personally I hope we don't let the intensity drop. Whatever we do it needs to be full force.

Replacing Ramsey is going to be impossible

We are through but quite sloppy in patches in 2nd half. XHAKA with some missed passes, Auba with 2 huge misses and Mustafi with his Hollywood defending. All in all good game, this adventurous formation seems to work out for us and Ramsey once again was key, Ozil on the other hand was just there, Mkhi and Iwobi got in and did better.

Bit harsh on Ozil there. He made chances in the first half, made great runs that weren't spotted and showed his technical quality.

He faded when Rennes grew into the second half and we couldn't keep hold of the ball. Iwobi and Mkhi shined because of the space Rennes were leaving.

Villareal are the weakest Spanish team left. They're struggling in the league this season. Also they have Cazorla so it'd be nice to see him at the Emirates again.

It's a very difficult draw regardless though.
