Predict the winner
Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
Atletico are a cup team and this is the strongest they've ever been under Simeone. Don't see anything wrong with them being viewed as a potential winner. Atleast , I'd rate them ahead of the likes of Man City who are in the same boat as PSG as far as European performances go.
Bookmakers have Man City as favourites(along with Barca) and ahead of Real Madrid which is kinda surprising. They have shown nothing out of the ordinary that puts them above teams that have consistently performed in Europe for more than half a decade.

Atletico would have had two CLs, maybe even four if it was not for Real Not farfetched at all to to think this might finally be their year with Ronaldo/Zidane gone and them having a stronger squad than ever. Injuries and referees obviously will factor a lot though.

City were really good last year until they played Liverpool IMO and I'd argue Pep *bleep* up more than anything else.
If he resists the urge to tinker too much when it matters I wouldn't be surprised if they win tbh, I wouldn't make them favourites though.

Atletico stronger than ever now? why? where have they strengthened meaningfully? this the same team that went out of the CL groups last year? OUT.
Then again, I hear Kalinic is on his way. May just be their year.

I don't think Juve winning the title actually helps Serie A and the state of Italian football as much as it should, but it's time for them to win it now. No excuses.

Atletico that went out in CL groups had Gameiro and Torres as striker options

Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
It will be a very boring and easy CL title for us. We've just added Coutinho, Arturo Vidal, Arthur (who already looks amazing), Lenglet, Malcom as quality/depth options and we have a couple of player who have something to prove this season like Dembélé and even Messi who was outperformed by Ronaldo for a couple of years now in the CL (actually the entire squad after that Roma debacle).
It's impossible for us not to win. We've lost only 1 meaningful game last season and strengthened tenfold since.

You strengthen with a midfielder that not too long recovered from a knee injury whom the Catalan media once called a drunk, a Brasilian midfielder who has yet to play a competitive game in Europe far less for La Liga to warrant any praise despite his talents, a Sevilla defender that you won't be using often unless it's CDR or injuries and Malcom who probably would do well but you never know with Ligue 1 players. Oh and Dembele who is so inspired to improve, he showed up after Malcom played 2 games in the ICC, you know, the new signing.
Yeah, it's very much possible for Barcelona to get KO in the QF again.

futbol wrote:Today I woke up at 12:30 pm. Yesterday I was feeling a bit ill but when I woke up my supreme immune system dealt with everything and I felt good. For breakfast I had some selfmade cake. I didn't bother to shave. I haven't shaved since before Christmas holidays but I didn't care. I quite like the bum look. I took the car and headed to work. When I arrived at the parking lot of the company I was slightly surprised. Almost empty which is unusual. Normally there are like 100 cars. Lazy plebs probably all on holidays. Anyway, I entered our office and discovered 2 fellow students already working. Normally there are 5 or 6. Truly on holidays the lazy plebs. Said "hello, how was your Christmas, yadda yadda", pretending that I actually cared. You know, the usual. I sat on my place, opened the document that I'm working on, opened Firefox on the other dual monitor and started to read some football sites to kill some time. Then I realized that something was missing. The morning coffee! I went to the kitchen and made myself some green tea because the plebs didn't bother to clean the coffee machine since before Christmas holidays. So then I took my tea and sat on my place when suddenly it dawned on me. Just out of nowhere, like the apple falling on Newton's head after which he formulated Newton's laws. I was in a sudden transcended state of mind. I saw it clearly: We are going to win the Champions League again this season.
Yes, that's it. I apologize for the spoiler. But it's happening. Enjoy.

Spoken like a very wise man.

Tier 1: Bayern, Barca
Tier 2: Manchester United, City, Real, Juve
Tier 3: PSG, Chelsea
Tier lul: The rest

The team that went out of the groups did not have Costa, Lemar, Arias, Vitolo, Martins.

We are winning this EASILY my friend, don't worry. Now that your team has lost the GOAT as well as the voodoo master coach there is no competition.
PSG? No heritage.
Bayern? Combined age of their wingers is 80 or something.
City? No heritage. And Pep.
Juventus is a threat now because of the GOAT but I feel even the GOAT can't prevent Juventus from losing a CL final (Juventus DNA).
So the only logical option is Barca.

Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
The only way I see Juve winning it is if bentancur explodes this season and forms a perfect understanding with khedira and pjanic or excels in a double pivot with pjanic otherwise our midfield will just get to over run

Barca have to win to match Real's heritage. Pressure is too high and this is a great chance considering Coutinho will play a full year and Ronaldo is gone.
Liverpool being mentioned lmao, We won't win but i'd like to see us reach the SFs preferably knocking out City again

why not? you just reached a final, Real are weaker now and you've spent silly money fixing problem areas. So either you think you fluked making the final last time (easy draw) or you're trying to worm your way out of no excuses territory, which you're firmly in btw.

Re: Who will win Champions League 2018/19 ?
Pool fans in general want it both ways really. They wanna be taken seriously as a contender but don't want the expectations that a contender brings. Klopp has to bring home either the PL or the CL with the money that has been invested, no more excuses. No more hiding. #sinkorswim

In fairness they are still using the Michael Owen money, once that dries up they are probably in trouble.
Can see why they are hesitant.
