Anyone remember Jovanovic? I guess it was such a fluke goal out of nowhere and I doubt he was ever famous playing in the Belgium league.

He was good for Standard and for Serbia.. but it's different to play in Belgium and England. He was close to 30 when he came to Liverpool, so I didn't expect he will be a special player at Liverpool, but I didn't expect him to fail so miserably.

The home and away fixture vs them will decide if we're in it for the title this year.

We should even think about how City does, wins or loses. After watching Pep's Bayern, I think City will have another perfect season. We should just think about getting 3 points in such games. More can not be done !

Yeah, you can only play the way Guardiola plays if you got the best team+the best bench in the league, and they got that. They got substitute on the same or near same level for every player. They spent 130m for *bleep* fullbacks

I don't think they have a chance at the CL though, as I said they are too one dimensional, whenever another team knows how to beat them they have no plan B.

But they are a team that's perfect for winning the league every year. They will almost never drop points to the likes of huddersfield, brighton etc. That's why they can afford to lose to Liverpool, United, Spurs or Chelsea. If we really want to challenge them then we have to become the scrub killers like them and win vs lower teams with ease, in the past we struggled with teams who don't give us space but we'll see how we are with these new signings.

Where is Fabinho ffs

There's no need to rush Fabinho into the starting line-up IMO, especially when Gini is playing great there. Fabinho is still behind Henderson as well, let's not forget Henderson was really good in the DM role last season.
It's so nice and refreshing to have this kind of squad depth though, I think we will have a lot more rotation this season which is just what we missed last season, the squad was kind of burned out towards the end last season and we were basically playing with same players every week.

If it was up to me,I'd let Fabinho get 20-30 minutes from the bench first and let him feel the team and then slowly integrate him to the team.

I don't think we will have a definite starting 11 this season, but much more similiar to City, rotating a couple players every week and keep everyone fresh. It's nice to have squad depth finally.

I think we will/should start with last games starting XI. I may wager on Clyne considering the Zaha factor. If Gini isn't starting, I would prefer Fabinho. He is a mature guy and have had the pre-season to acclimatize and shouldn't have much trouble slotting in. OK fine, I'm dying to see this guy play.

We finally have a midfield which can control games and we have different options now.
Btw I dont like Hendo as number 6. His positioning to receive passes from CBs or FBs is not always right imo. I feel like sometimes he asks them to pass there , pass here but doesnt make himself always available in a way that you can control the game without too much running.
