Is that cited anywhere credible? I have been searching online and I have only found 1 source to be reporting that and it sounded more speculative than anything.

It's not 3rd party ownership and, thus, not illegal.  That's the whole point.  In a legal document, you have to detail exactly what is illegal or at least allow for the possibility of it falling into a realm that's illegal per the document thus allowing precedent in cases to offer more detail.  Nothing comes even close to it in the current version of FFP.

The player is getting a big endorsement deal and is using that money to free himself from his contract legally. Nobody ever takes ownership in him at any point.

That's the outcry.  People are saying that this deal goes against the "spirit" of FFP.  But that holds zero salt legally.

The whole idea behind FFP is to avoid clubs becoming highly indebted and having zero prospects of paying such debts. There is no debt or commitment from PSG here.
