Did it take 3 hours for it to be fully downloaded and installed?

Tried to hunt some game, found myself into the city Valentine, accidently bumped into the kid who sells newspapers, got into a fight because of that, was chased by law enforcers, ended up near a lake where I found a deer lurking about so I killed/skinned it and got it onto my horse... only for a bunch of bandits trying to steal from me. Finally got back to the camp donating stuff, not sure how important/relevant that even is but I‘m doing it.
This is a lot of fun.

I spent 3 hours today legit just hunting animals in the woods lol.

Some of the gear you can get if you kill the right animals looks insane.
Definitely worth the effort hunting to get them.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
do I have to take legendary pelts to a trapper asap? like can you lose them? since u store them on the horse. Only trapper I've found so far is a massive trek and I'd rather do some missions between..

As long as you don't lose it in between you'll be fine.
It shouldn't happen but it's possible.

The cutscenes are phenomenal. The game looks amazing in general but wow are the cut scenes a step above that. The motion capture is brilliant. Looks like a movie ffs

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
love the atmosphere so far, very immersive
however, there is such a thing as being too realistic IMO
Can see some of these little gameplay elements becoming tedious AF after a couple dozen hours
also im insanely overwhelmed atm barely touched story, exploring, doing hunts and always random encounters taking up my time

I thought it would too but so far it hasn't. There's enough gamey elements to balance out the focus on realism imo.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Anyone else (Not you, Mole ) who think the controls feel clunky? It reminds me a bit of pre-patch Witcher 3, only it's more annoying when you're using guns, compared to swords. Movement, in general, just doesn't feel as smooth as I'd ideally want it to be. It's not a huge issue, but I definitely think it could have been better.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I mean it does, but that seems like every Rockstar game ever.
Shooting itself feels really good IMO, especially like the Max Payne style exit wound kill cams. But the movement itself is clunky I agree.

The controls sometimes piss me off man, I don‘t get how taking your gun out and interacting with someone is the same button, it‘s happened a few times now that I wanted to talk to someone and instead took out my gun and ended up being chased by law enforcers.

It's more frustrating when people bump into you, and they arbitrarily decide to start a fight - which wouldn't have been a problem, if not for the fact that fighting back turns the entire town against you I wish there was a setting for making Arthur store the equipped weapon setup. It's mildly annoying when you dismount your horse without checking what weapons you're carrying, just to later find out that your weapon inventory has been randomized since the last time you mounted your horse.
Maybe it's just me, but I've died quite a few times while browsing through the endless amount of provisions in my inventory. I tend to read the descriptions before using anything, because I don't want to waste powerful healing items unnecessarily. Also, it takes a few seconds before he starts consuming them, which has lead to me getting killed a lot already I've encountered quite a few bugs, like Hosea randomly showing up on his horse and starts spinning while inside the wall of a barn in the middle of nowhere. I think the game will have a lot of early patches. I'm enjoying it, though!

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I find how Arthur controls pretty fine now tbh, got no major issues with it. Except that I had to reload a couple times after trying to aim my gun at someone to rob them and it shot them.
My issue is the gunplay, but I'm thinking maybe that's because I'm doing stuff wrong. But that feels hella clunky.
Maybe It's because I forgot about Marston's good qualities over the years but I already like Arthur much more.
I'm assuming I can get a fishing rod from somewhere? entered an area for a legendary fish and was miffed I couldn't hunt for it.
the open world is beautiful though, I hope this feeling of immersion and authenticity holds up. Amazing.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I can tell trying to get items/pelts to craft upgrades for ur ten is gonna be addictive
only problem is I lose track, can u track it out in the wild? or just with pearson back at camp?
I bet u can do it on mobile but the app isnt out on android apparently

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I like that it feels chunky tbh, really feel the feedback with each hit.
Saying that I feel like I should get better guns, haven't bought any or upgraded at all since the beginning.
