time to make a thread about the local team FC Edmonton. The club play their games at Clarke Stadium (capacity 5,000) in the NASL and had previously played friendlies as well as Canadian Amway Cup matches at the far bigger Commonwealth Stadium (capacity about 60,000). the club currently sit tied for 1st with New York Cosmos in the fall standings and one point back of the cosmos in the combined standings, both with one game in hand. The club recently had a nine game home winning streak ended with a 0-0 draw against Puerto Rico FC. However, goalkeeper Matt van Oekel has not conceded a goal for 534 minutes! The eddies have never made the NASL playoffs or won the Canadian Amway Championship contensted by Vancouver Whitecaps, Toronto FC, Montreal Impact and Ottawa Fury FC.

The shutout streak for Van Oekel ended tonight; but, he saved a penalty and then saved the retake in tonight's match!
