I actually wasn't sure if an assist would be accredited in that situation, so I went to a more authorative source to check. WhoScored didn't credit him, so I left it. Now that I see a couple of other sources have given him the assist, I'll correct it.

I don't even know. On second look, Arsenal Twitter said "We'll count that as an assist" with an emoji and I can't find the Squawka tweet about it. But fwiw transfermarkt, the Wikipedia of football, has it down as an assist.
