Well if Suarez and Neymar perform it will not be only him. I also think Iniesta will have another season or two at top level (maybe not as consistent as we would need him to be), so I expect one of the other CM will finally fit in and perform to our standards so that Messi can play where he is supposed to play. I just hope we have finally fixed the CB problem. Also the RB seams to be the main issue this season so it is going to be more of the issue of defense than midfield or attack IMO.

with iniesta rakitic sergi we looked alot better structured. the team was moved forward to the goal positionally and it made the passing lanes shorter and quicker. messi dropping deeper into that 10meter in front of the box worked good, rapid passing. messi dropping deep to the half-line with the team moved back alot more didnt work. we usually get a diagonal from messi to the running back (mostly alba, very fast still) but so far that doenst resolve to much

Honestly MESSI has always been dropping deep even when XAVIESTA and BUSQUETS were in their prime. It's just how he is when they can't get THE BALL to him quickly. He wants it at his feet as often as he can so he does that whether you like it or not IDGAF.

Hopefully we get to see UMTITI and GOMES from the start tonight. They'll surely improve our game.
