How long will the coach, Madrid players, fans etc. accept CR as the main man? Outside the tap ins & penalties he provides jack shit.

Commentator even said loud and clear that he scored 2 free kicks out of the last 85 free kicks attempts


It's time we recognize that Benzema is the main man in Real Madrid & start building around him.

Honestly, that's why I have zero respect for Ronaldo as saying so in the thread RG made last week.

The man just wants glory for himself....he sees Pichici as CL/League equivalent. Real plays every game with 10 men basically....Any half decent player can score a decent proportion of his goals if they get all the play to them. That's why I think his goal scoring record is a bit of nothing-ness.

Not to mention, a man who willingly decides to part ways with Iryna Shayk, should be tested for mental illness.

James and Benz can be next leaders in attack.

Imo, Cr7 may risk staying in madrid for too long. The truth is the cr7 you all know is gone and gone for good. He isnt a useless player or anything like that but like i said in the madrid section some weeks back, his goals are going to come in bursts now (hattrick, 4 goals, brace). The consistently ruthless cr7 we all used to know some 3 years ago will never come back again.
That being said, its too late to make benz the face of madrid now, not with james available or the next galactico signing in place.
Whats more funny is that he's been like this for years now.

There were 3 scenes today that basically summed him up as a player for me.

Scene 1 was in the opening minutes where he went for the same header as Benzema. Flashbacks of that one famous Higuain scene.

Scene 2 was a break where he could have put Isco through on goal if he passed the ball better but he completely overhit a very simple pass and it went out of play after which he made funny faces and gestures.

Scene 3 was towards the end after Atletico had equalized where he randomly took a shot from 35 yards.

He did not decline physically? He declined physically for at least 2 seasons now. Just check this short video highlight of him from 09/10 then you'll realize how much he has fallen. He actually used to score some great individuals goals, dribbled and was dangerous from freekicks. These days he's camping in the box and statpadding from 3 yard tap-ins, penalties and goalkeeper errors and "these days" isn't just a couple of games. It's going on for a lot longer.

Ronaldo is obviously in a bad patch of form. No matter what anyone says, this is not the norm for him. Whether he turns it around it is a big question given he is 30+ now and realistically could be on a decline. I fully expect flip flop ifit happens. Just like in 2012 "Ronaldo is a selfish joke" got renamed to "Ronaldo is a CAMPEONE" and then of course when Benzema was missing sitters and slipping on backheels against Juve almost everyone was calling for his head and soon he became the best striker in the world.

but those are signs of deteriorating skills , not a decline in athletic abilities .
the guy is still as athletic and explosive as it gets.

are we really gonna pretend that cr didn't take around 12 shots a game back then too, then or now if he doesn't take a bunch of shots he does nothing.

It seems to be a trend with us honestly though eventually Ronaldo would actually turn out to be past his prime. Just don't think it is now. He is not having a good season so far though so the criticism is warranted I guess.
