Agree with all that. The hardest will be going 1-0. Keeping them from scoring while attacking will be as hard as football can be.

We really need Chiellini back. I would play Sturaro as well, we'll need his energy. Our usual 3-5-2. Bringing Morata/Zaza, Cuadrado, Sandro as things go along.

Allegri said that Chiello didn't train yet with the team and he may not play vs Bayern.

Damn. I was about to ask you guys about Evra vs Sandro for Bayern. Now a left side of a 3-5-2 with Rugani and Sandro looks too weak vs Robben and co. Maybe in the 4-4-2?

Sandro or Evra?

Sandro. Robben destroyed Evra in the fist 60 minutes, Barzagli was covering for him lol he is to slow.

Rugani isn't impressing me, I can see the potential but I can see that he needs time to grow reminds me of the first season Bonucci Smile

Hopefully Chiello will play and will be risked in this match. I don't want to see this 442.

Do you guys know a place to download full UCL matches? I'll probably miss the Bayern match and I'm looking to stay off the grid and download it on Thursday.

Mandzukic,Marchisio and Chiellini are all out...I don't see Rugani starting so we'll propably go with 442.
Hernanes had a good game but I'm not convinced he'll perform well again,he can't make up Marchisio's defensive work.
Our chances are very slim now...however what I wanna see is us playing with heart and heads up no matter whats the result.Forza!!!

Mandzu will play, Dybala, Marchisio and Chiello out.

Our only hope is holding tight for 90 min parking it Mourinho style and pray that Morata brings his clutch moments back. Or that Pogba/Cuadrado can make some magic and create something for Mandzu.

If we are gonna sit back I'd go 3-5-2

Morata-Mandzukic
Sandro-Pogba-Hernanes-Sturaro-Cuadrado
Bonucci-Rugani-Barzagli

and just pack the defense. Evra's better positioning is not needed if we are parking the bus so having Sandro and Cuadrado for counters would be good.

If we are gonna be proactive then the usual 4-4-2 but with Sturaro in place of Khedira.

salmano9 wrote:I'd go for 433 with Sandro LW Morata RW Mandzu ST

Thats basically a 4-4-2. Morata and Mandzu will take to the center and Sandro will track back a lot. Would be good for me too. That, or with Cuadrado as a winger (the usual 4-4-2) would be fine.

With Conte set to take over at Chelsea, I'm interested in knowing how high do you guys rate both him and Max. If Conte had stayed, do you think you would've reached the CL final anyway all while continuing your domestic dominance, or is it only because of Max? In the same way, do you think hadn't Conte laid the groundwork for Max, the latter would've been as successful? If Max was appointed before Conte, would Juventus be as successful? Which one is better according to you?

I apologize for flooding you guys with questions, but I think no one is better placed than you to answer them.

Conte created an army, he instilled a winning mentality and brought that simple, perfectionist approach to Juventus. His first season he went undefeated, brought the best from signings like Brazagli, Pirlo and Vidal. Introduced the 3-5-2, along with Pogba. His struggles with Europe were well documented and it was like he would give up on the tournament before it even began. It was almost as if he acted like Juventus had no chance to win it, that they could not compete with clubs like Bayern, Real or Barcelona. Then he left and he did so in his own way, with Juventus refusing to spend the money he wanted to, being a big reason.

Allegri, my favourite manager. Much more tranquil, much more flexible, much better at being a 'man' manager. I feel like he is much more liked by the team. Almost did a treble in his first year, yes Conte may have lay the groundwork there though. This season, complete squad overhaul, decimated by injuries and still the best Juventus I have ever seen in terms of style of play.

As for your question, I think this was the best order for things to happen. Conte brought Juventus from the ashes, he built an army. Allegri made that army into the special forces :coffee:

Luca said it. If I were to choose the order of things I would again go with Conte and then to Allegri. Conte revived Juve and brought us back to what we were. Winning and fighting for every ball. No complacency allowed and talent meant little vs hard work. Juve needed exactly that.

His Juve (I don't know how much you watched) played to his orders to the most minute detail. Tons of running, ball possession, and above all tactical positioning. With Conte most times it felt like we had an extra player and won every rebound.

Its hard to imagine Allegri (or anyone) doing what Conte did. But he brings other things to a different level. IMO last season was perfect because it was Conte's team playing to Allegri's tactics. Max was smart enough to not shake things too much. Played half a season with the 3-5-2 and slowly brought Morata and the 4-3-1-2 to play like he wanted. The result was great.

Who do I rate more?

Conte. You could argue either way though, like Luca did.

Allegri is the better tactician and thats needed in the CL. Max strikes as one of the smartest guys in football (NOT about football knowledge, just intelligent in general). He knows what to do and how win games. Extremely flexible and agreeable guy. His tinkering with the team is almost always positive.

Conte on the other hand trains the players like soldiers. The beauty is that his game is not "negative" in the traditional sense (Mourinho, Simeone, etc.). Its rare for a manager to be so intense about the teams conditioning and discipline and still strive to control the ball and the flow of the game. His ambition and ability to motivate players wins it for me. Once he gains more experience in big games he'll be something else. Going from 7th place to undefeated champions. 3 scudettos. One with >100pts. And the "bad in europe" thing is overblown. He had 1 bad season.

Juventus (4-3-3) : Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Evra; Khedira, Hernanes, Pogba; Cuadrado, Mandzukic, Morata.

@rincon : That is exactly what I was hoping for. This flexibility is amazing and makes it look at if the only player missing is Marchisio. I have good hopes now!

Great Post. I too rate Conte higher even though Max is a very smart guy. But I wanted to hear it from Juventus fans who used to watch him week in and week out.

If Conte can bring Chelsea back from the dead like he did with Juventus and win silverware against Pep's City and (possibly) Mourinho's United, that would be quite remarkable.

Its a pretty ballsy lineup from Max. At least that shows initiative. I'd still go with Sturaro though, Hernanes needs cover.

i like that hybrid 442

--------- fw --- fw ------
------------ am --------- rw
-------- cm --- cm ----------
lb ----- cb ----- cb ------ rb

on this formation you have LFW, RW you can use on counter attacks same as 4231, you can also use Pogba sometimes on the left, to compensate for left wing stamina

this is really cool if you think about it and don't worry for that 3 men in the back idea because one of the side backs can step forwards if necessary but normally when you play against top clubs you should have 4 in the back

we have experienced line back
we have good center-midfield
we have players who can run wide
we have players who can go for headers

so this is something really cool, because when you select a team and formation you should aim to  compensate for the weakness of the formation

442 with wide men doesnt have enough strength in center midfield 442 diamond with 3xcm doesnt have wings, all formations have their weakness

but when you have players like morata, pogba, cuadrado, with lots of stamina you compensate for that weakness
