I think this is a great signing aside from the fact that he'll be given a 4 yr contract.Its a massive upgrade for you guys in the GK spot.

Agreed, while it may be a bit unfortunate to miss out on Perin. I think it'll be good to have Lopez in the long run, if we do make it to the CL, his experience will be valuable. Perin might be too young to start for a team with tough objectives. Though, i would like to see him as our post-Lopez keeper. Given that he will have matured and gained experience by then.

i agree ... perin is a great young keeper but i m happy with got lopez who was till a great keeper before madrid too and he wanted him back then too.

i believe he would commit atleast for 4-5 years. that means its likely that abbiati will retire soon.

Lopez's career stats

People are overrating Perin because he's young and Italian when in reality he still needs to grow in order to be ready to start for a big Italian team.And considering the co-ownership system has been abolished,it would have been even more difficult to spend what in likelihood,the majority of this year's budget on a goalkeeper,a position where Milan havent spent much money on in previous years.

Unfortunate we missed out on Perin, who could've been a 10+ year goalkeeper for Milan. However, Diego Lopez for such a low fee is an exceptional deal. I have no issue with the length of the contract whatsoever.

yea but dont u think that mostly GK career last much longer?? i feel so hahaha most of the GK as far as we know retires at age of 38 - 40 so we can only hope Diego Lopez stays fit, performs well and last for 6-7 years! would be great for him and will be great for us.

A great start , though he conceded a somewhat funny goal. These goals are always trickier than they look ,though. But his penalty save. I swear , moments before the penalty i said to a friend of mine next to me , watch , he will save it !

And he saved it.



When i remember all my rants about how finished Abbiati is and how badly we need a new gk... Seeing Diego Lopez as our goalkeeper is just fantastic. Seeing how we got him for free , it is unreal how much of an upgrade that was.
