FIFA U20 Women's World Cup 2014 in Canada

The opening match Finland U20 vs Korea DPR U20 just kicked off (after Sepp Blatter had to pose around even here before the kick-off -_-).

The more interesting match (at least for me) will start in about two hours, though: Germany U20 vs USA U20, which is a match worthy of a final (as a matter of fact, it was the 2012 final with the USA as winners), but appears already in the group stage this time.

By the way, our female keepers are as outstanding as the male ones. Meike Kämper just did a Manu Neuer style interception there

Oh, and the US keeper Rowland is brilliant, too. And just when I write that she made a mistake and just got saved by one of her outfield players (Naughton) who managed to clear the ball from the line.

Meike Kämper is often standing outside the box and sometimes up the middle line when the German team starts to build up play. But she is absolutely confident and strong in the box. Perfect sweeper keeper, too.

Gahh. Lina Magull only hit the US post from point blanc range  That was almost Torres-esque.

And Meike Kämper is a real sorceress. She saved even two more 100% chances.

What a double save by Meike Kämper! Absolutely outstanding! I think the US girls must curse her by now.

Well, Sweden didn't qualify. In the women's U20, there are only 4 teams of Europe among the 16 teams.

Meike Kämper does a Neuer again and heads a ball away before the Chinese striker about 20 metres in front of her goal.

The German defrense was everywhere but between goal and the Chinese striker. No wonder that Zhu Beiyan was able to place the ball into the net with a determined shot. In replay it looked like an offside goal.

Very fast play, and then Sara Däbritz gets the ball from Pauline Bremer and leaves the Chinese goalie no chance.
