Watching Diego Costa at this WC makes me seriously think they will be even better with Mandzukic. I personally rate Mario pretty high, although I feel he wasted this whole season at Bayern..

Dirty player, physically strong, relentless presser, great header in the box, good finisher. Sounds like a perfect fit to me.

Perfect Costa replacement + money to spare.

As for us, the fee is good since we got him for 13m.

I like it, glad he found a great club that suits him since he's been surprisingly strong for us and I wish him the best.

He actually fits Atletico pretty well. Even more of a workhorse than Costa.

The only thing Costa does better is run into the channels, he is a bit better than that. But overall, he could be an excellent replacement I think.

Seems like a good fit but we'll have to wait and see how it pans out though. La Liga is very different to other leagues so he might struggle at first.

They lost nothing with Costa leaving and Mandzukic signing honestly. That's what you look for in signings like this.

By the same token, not sure what exactly they gained either though.

A good signing, but whether they evolve from this....I really don't know.

He's better in the air than Costa and arguably better at pressing too.

So yeah they basically bought a taller Costa, for 10m less so they have done well.

I couldn't disagree more about the Mandzukic/Costa comparisons, people are hating on Costa because of his behaviour but Mandzukic is scum aswell and just as dirty. The only thing Mandzukic has got over Costa is heading ability and that's about it, Costa has better movement, link-up play, passing, shooting, finishing, speed etc...

costa has good link up play and passing? majority of the time i see him play its just atleti hoofing to costa and he put his head down an goes to work that it basically imo.

Underrated point. List of players coming to La Liga and it taking some time to get the hangs of things is quite long, even those who fit.

I think it will help he is being coached by Simeone though.
