Also agree with Jay. It's not a totally ridiculous possibility to groom Wilshere as a holding mid, but it is a gamble.

On a more serious note, I agree. ATM I don't trust Wilshere because he's still up and down with his performances, not even to mention he's not disciplined for that role.

Always rated Nastasic. He is certainly worthy of playing second fiddle to Per and Kos.
Would be a good signing if it happens.

Nastasic would be a good buy for 15mil a decent 3rd choice who can potentially be a starter next season. The biggest thing with Wilshere as a DM for me is he has a bit of a temper and can make rash challenges, while having an immense work rate physically he is underwhelming. I would prefer we bought someone more level headed and stronger physically.

According to Dean, Vermaelen has asked to leave Arsenal and hence a CB is a bigger priority than a DM atm.

Yup. Sagna was our 4th choice CB last season and, well, he's gone, too.

When he leaves he will be remembered as the worse captain in Arsenal's history

We need to look for 2 CBs and not just one if vermaelen leaves

I don't trust Jenkinson at CB. I'd be mightily impressed if he performs well there but Jenkinson isn't an intelligent player. I really can't see him perform that good at CB.

But Vermaelen has only got himself to blame, first season as captain he was horrid. People even stopped defending the guy
