you had me believing until this point....now I know you're crazy

you know that belgium are a great team when you watch them and see fellaini pulling their counter attacks USA are already on quarter finals

I have a feeling Klinsmann was brought on to make structural changes to the way the USMNT is run rather than to coach the team to great results.

Can't think of a single strength US have over Belgium.

I actually agree, I think Klinsmann is more suited to the Sunil Gulati role than manager of the squad itself. While I appreciate the results, I can't help but think we win in spite of Jurgen. However, should we ever let him go I hope he stays on as Technical Director of the federation.

the question is if Hazard will wait until the 80th minute to do something like in the last game.Belgium already are crap as a unit, it doesn't help that the individuals don't show up/are inconsistent

That's a very good point. If they get Hazard the ball early and in the right spots he'll destroy their fullbacks. IMO, Wilmots should just give him a free-role like Mourinho did against Man City and limit the amount of defending.

Really hope Belgium go through. I'm desperate for a Hazard v Messi Quarterfinal.

EDIT: Thinking about it now, the only real advantage USA have over Belgium could turn out to be exactly what gets them through (the coach). Wilmots is one of the worst in the World Cup and is relying on his players surprisingly high fitness levels and individual brilliance to bail him out.

They're almost an exact replica of the 2010 Netherlands team. Mistake free, slow paced and defensive team that relies of the individual ability of their star forwards & opposition errors to win games.

Belguim has been crap so far and i doubt that they are suddenly going to change, this game is going to be very even.

Belgium seem to have a horrible coach indeed.

Anyway, should be an interesting game since Belgium haven't been anything special and the U.S. have played really well at times.

There has also been an interesting difference between these teams so far: Belgium attack so very slowly, whether it's moving the ball or making runs, it's slow. USA have been almost the opposite, when they attack it's done quite fast and no player dwells on the ball unnecessarily.

I'm not saying that will turn the match in the Americans' favour, but Belgium could learn a thing or two from them. What might turn the match in Belgium's favour, however, is their solid defense.

Tha's all nice and well, but we can't just ignore the huge gap in quality between the teams. Belgium are clear favourites for me.
