Spending half of our budget on Cesc?  We can get Cesc and Alexis sanchez for free almost. Barcelona owe us money for Cesc and Song.

I am over Cesc tbh, dont care where he goes. What I care about is what Wenger is going to do to get us to the next level. FA cup was great but next year we need more and just FA cup wont be good enouph.

As for selling Santi, I am against selling him to make space Cesc, it would be a pointless thing. We need all the players we can get to win major trophies.

After all Santi has given us, and Ozil CHOOSING us in a dark spot after the disaster summer we had last season, pushing either of them aside for that guy is about as low and desperate as it gets. I don't even want him to take games away from Rosicky, let alone Ozil and Cazorla.

Screw him. We don't need him, and not concerned at all if Chelsea or United want to sign him after years of being out of form. If they don't sign him they'll sign someone just as good or better anyway.

And do you guys truly feel that Cazorla was good this year? Think about it. He was truly meh for probably 75% of the season if not more.

You could have an offensive right back that provides the width when Ozil goes narrow, but then I think putting Ozil to either side to accommodate another creative midfielder limits the spaces he can take up. In other words, you just recreate the problem we have now with Cazorla and Ozil in the same side, except it'll be with Cesc and Ozil instead.

Also, Cesc's natural tendency is to push forward, regardless of if he's playing as a CM or AM, which will leave a two man midfield. So again, it's not really any different to our current set-up.

We need width and pace, and Cesc provides neither. That's where it stops for me. Rather than tinker with things just to fit him in, it'd be much simpler for us if we just signed a wide player.

He was inconsistent during the first half of the season since he was injured, but he improved as the season went on and finished quite strongly. Not as good as last season, but that's hardly reason for selling him.

Santi is a better team player than cesc, it's not about individual quality anymore. If you bench Santi he wont complain. Bench cesc and he will cry at night

Why would you bench Cesc though? He's clearly a regular at Arsenal if he were to come.

Cazorla cried plenty at the end of the season... remember: "If Arsenal lack the ambition to play for trophies, i will look elsewhere." When Arsenal had it tough, Santi was looking to jump ship.

We'd have to role out the red carpet, sell Santi, and push Ozil to the side for Cesc. I just don't see the point. We just spent 40m on Ozil last year, why would we just push him out wide for Cesc a year later. Either one of Cesc or Ozil will look bad if we bring him in

The point is this... Arsenal don't get worse with Cesc and without Santi. In fact, the team likely gets better or keeps the status quo at worse. The financial delta from buying Cesc and selling Santi would be negligable.

The big thing is that it doesn't stregnthen Chelsea even more. The idea is to compete for the EPL crown. That means you need to manage both your squad and also annoy your rivals if there's an opportunity. This is an opportunity.

Unless Arsenal are happy to remain 3rd or 4th from now to eternity, i just don't get how they can just let this happen. Heck... buy Cesc and then sell him to someone else in a month if you have to

Chelsea wouldn't even let Arsenal have Demba Ba once Ozil was bought because they felt that the gunners were now a threat...

Sign Cesc for €33million, what do you think you'll get in today's market for Cazorla who's turning 30 in December?

And the goal isn't to maintain the status quo but to improve it. If we can keep our injuries to a minimum then bringing him in would appear to create more problems than it solves. Use the money where we need it. Keep the squad we have, don't disrupt the harmony that currently exists.

That's the clause... because you're triggering the clause, Spanish law requires you to pay certain taxes on it. For example, Illaramendi's clause was also 30 million (like every LaReal player) but cost Madrid 39 million with taxes.

Besides, the net outlay for Cesc purchase and Cazorla sale would be a net 20 mil AT WORSE. That's 40 mil for Cesc (does Arsenal still get 50% of the fee so the fee is cut in half?) and 20 mil in for Cazorla.

This "point" being the 5th June, 19 days after the previous season ended, 25 days before the transfer window officially opens, 70 or so days before the new season even starts. What's the point in making judgements about our title chances now? Not to mention football isn't played on paper.

Arsenal need a RB, striker and defensive midfielder. Getting good ones will cost enough money as it is.
If that is done, they can look for a winger.
Cesc doesn't come into it anywhere.

if we need to buy cesc we need to sell someone first like cazorla ozil etc
if we do buy cesc we would have to change the formation and make cesc the engine of the team
if we sign cesc we cant really fix the major areas which need to fixed which include a STRIKER(Remy),WINGER (Griezmen), DM(Bender,Paulinho) and a RB(Van Der Weil, Pisceck and Aurier).

Its also important to note that mourinho would need to change his system to accommodate cesc and the current system would be prone defensively.

So this is what i have to say regarding SESX.

Plus i note some people above saying we lack ambition. Believe me guys from what i have seen this team can become greatest football team ever. we just need to stay patient.
