OK..FFS enough - they were bad's calls - why are people arguing the point? Man maybe we should give the refs a break when people can't seem to make a right call after a gazillion replays on the tele.

A) The top line not being parallel actually makes it look LESS onside..
B) Forgive me if I am missing something.. but the second goal was a clear goal, corner taken, ball skims a cameroonian head, therefore dos Santos onside because he was behind the corner taker. What makes it even worse is that even if we forgive the linesman for not noticing it came off a cameroon head rather than mexican, it STILL looked like he was in line with a defender.

Am I wrong?

Severely overrated Cameroon. Or the manager played a shit team.

In any case, well deserved win by Mexico.

Mexico vs Croatia will be good

yeah Mexico Croatia will be a tasty one for sure.
Croatia need to increase their goal dif against cameroon badly. Mexico could rue those missed chances + poor ref decisions.

the second goal should not even be contested for offside.. cameroon defender touched it.... gio was onside by a mile with the initial corner kick, first goal is legit but i understood why the ref called it off..
clear penalty also not awarded
glad we won the match but i was ready to rage if cameroon scored in that last minute.
ochoa though.. herrera.. gio

Justice won in the end.

Mexico's defense looked bad, I fancy Croatia bagging a few against them, never mind Brazil.

yes Rakitic and Kovacic played very badily and also the rest of Crotia was enough mediocre. just Perisic and Vrsaljko (also the Genoa player for me ) liked me.
But although this Brazil it was a match destinated to tie for me and this sounds as an alarm bell for them .

Luka Modric is an injury concern for Croatia heading deeper into their World Cup campaign after picking up a knock.

Head coach Niko Kovac has revealed that the Real Madrid playmaker is nursing a foot complaint following Thursday’s 3-1 defeat to hosts Brazil.

Modric is integral to the Croatia cause and will have a leading role to play in their Group A fixtures to come against Cameroon and Mexico.

Kovac acknowledges as much and is hoping for a positive update from his medical staff.

He told HTV: “Luka is in Salvador and our doctors are with him in the hospital.

“He has to go though some exams and then we will see how serious it is.

“God forbid that something serious happens to him. That would be a huge blow for us.”

Mexico far exceeded my expectations. Theye have a good chance at 2nd, much better than Croatia. Then again my expectations were on the floor and they were playing a very disorganized Cameroon.

I don't think you can watch that game and form any reasonable view on how they might fair against Croatia. Cameroon were seriously poor.

Croatia have been given a boost with the news midfielder Luka Modric has avoided a serious foot injury.

The Real Madrid man suffered a painful blow during Thursday's controversial 3-1 defeat to Brazil in the opening game of the World Cup.

Croatia felt aggrieved by some of Yuichi Nishimura's refereeing, particularly his decision to award a penalty to Brazil after a coming together between Dejan Lovren and Fred with the score at 1-1.

However, the more pressing concern for coach Niko Kovac was the fitness of Modric, who went to hospital for a scan on Friday.

"Luka stayed in El Salvador. We will see what happened to him. Yesterday, he got a strong blow to the foot," Kovac said.

However, a statement published on the Croatian football association's website confirmed that an MRI "proved there is no fracture or ligament damage".

Modric is therefore expected to recover quickly, and should be available for full training on Sunday before Croatia face Cameroon in their crucial second Group A fixture three days later.

Great win by Brazil , First game are always tricky. However I wasn't impressed by Fred.

Not impressed by Hulk either but most disappointed that midfielders as good as Modric and Rakitic hardly tried to impose themselves. Still think the second place in this group is a toss up between Mexico and Croatia and either of them will have very little chance against the Netherlands in the second round.

I'm no Hulk hater but I don't think it'll make much difference if he's out as long as William takes his place. If it's Bernard on the other hand...
