Zaha is secretly smiling at the fact that he might have a chance to play football for Manchester United now. Very Happy

VendettaRed07 wrote:I just have to wonder. What does moyes do now? He'll never live this time at united down. He'll always be mocked and jeered around the world by almost everyone, non United fans included. He'll always be known for his greatest failure and it's likely that he'll never be able to do anything about it.

I really do feel bad for him now that he's gone imo... I can't image living my life and having it be defined by something I failed at.

He made 4.5m million pounds in ONE YEAR. Why would you feel bad for the guy?

David Moyes wrote:''To have been appointed as manager of Manchester United, one of the biggest football clubs in the world, was and remains something of which I will always be incredibly proud.

''Taking charge after such a long period of continuous stability and success at the club was inevitably going to be a significant challenge, but it was one which I relished and never had a second thought about taking on.

''The scale of the manager's job at United is immense, but I have never stepped away from hard work and the same applies to my coaching staff. I thank them for their dedication and loyalty throughout the last season.

''We were fully focused and committed to the process of the fundamental rebuilding that is required for the senior squad. This had to be achieved whilst delivering positive results in the Barclays Premier League and the Champions League. However, during this period of transition, performances and results have not been what Manchester United and its fans are used to or expect, and I both understand and share their frustration.

''In my short time at the club I have learnt what special places Old Trafford and Carrington are. I would like to thank the United staff for making me feel so welcome and part of the United family from my first day. And of course thank you to those fans who have supported me throughout the season. I wish you and the club all the best for the future.

''I have always believed that a manager never stops learning during his career and I know I will take invaluable experience from my time as United's manager. I remain proud to have led the team to the quarterfinals of this year's Champions League and I remain grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for believing in my ability and giving me the chance to manage Manchester United.''

We're proud of you, too, Moysie Proud
We thank you for your focus and committment
Fickle and impatient fans didn't realize what significant challenge the fundamental rebuilding of the senior squad would pose No
They've lost a humble and hard-working servant, and a CL specialist too

Man Utd were unfair on him imo. Appoint him for the long term then sack him when he's not getting the results. SAF didn't build Man Utd in one season.

I think it was pretty harsh, I said from the beginning he should have two seasons minimum

That being said, dropping what is it now? 7 places with an almost identical squad is pretty awful

People will make the argument that other top teams strengthened properly, however they've been losing to teams well below their level so that's not really important.

LMA chief Richard Bevan wrote:"The LMA is very disappointed with the nature of David's departure from Manchester United and to read extensive reports in the press, confirming David's sacking, before David himself had been spoken to officially by the club"

"Throughout his time at United, David, as he always does, has conducted himself with integrity and professionalism, values that he believes in and that have been strongly associated with the club and its rich tradition.

"It is therefore sad to see the end of David's tenure at United being handled in an unprofessional manner.

"David is one of the most talented, knowledgeable and dedicated managers in British Football. He has a wealth of experience accumulated in a management career that started when he was 35 and already spans 16 years, with over 800 games in the professional game.

"David is a three-time winner of the LMA Manager of the Year Award, and without a doubt, he has a significant future in front of him in football management.

"He is passionate about the game and I know he possesses the drive and resilience to learn from this chapter of his career and move on to a new challenge in the game.”

They didn't deserve you, David No

"Moyes was left in the dark about his imminent departure on Monday, despite the news breaking on Twitter and subsequently flooding the internet.
The Scot, who was in charge at Old Traford for only 348 days, is angry with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and other club officials, who did not keep him informed of his fate.

Mirror Sport can reveal Moyes was so unaware that he was about to be fired that he worked on FOUR deals for new players on the day it was made known he was departing.  As the news frenzy became overwhelming, Moyes spoke to allies in the game in the afternoon and early evening of Monday and was confident he still had Woodward's support.

The now-departed manager thought he was safe and was pressing for an answer from Luke Shaw’s camp about a £27million move from Southampton to the Old Trafford giants. Moyes and his team had been at Southampton’s game against Aston Villa on Saturday and were working on persuading the young England left-back to be part of his summer overhaul.

A deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos was also being worked on during Black Monday and Moyes was also looking to sort out the futures of United youngsters Wilfried Zaha and Nick Powell, who are out on loan at Cardiff and Wigan respectively.  The former Everton boss was left disgusted as he found out how the outgoing Premier League champions had already decided to sack him without telling him"]

He was just about to finalize the deals with Kroos and Shaw, when they decided to sack him
Now they'll miss out on those two

I'm fairly confident Moyes getting sacked changes nothing here. If United want them they will continue to target them. And if they truely wanted to go to United, I very much doubt it was because they were desperate to work with Moyes

From a Madrid fan rofl

SAF point is moot, been covered so many times. Moyes inherited a league winning squad, which won by a hefty margin, and  took us to unparalleled lows in the PL era.

He had nearly a full season to show signs that he was laying the groundwork for something in the future but that never happened. He got his just desserts.

A league winning squad that was declining, ageing, lacked star players and only won because of SAF's unique managerial abilities.

Moyes should have been given another season at least to buy his own players and do his own thing.
